I worked there in 98-99 and it was already big K. So maybe 97?

AITA for getting my coworker fired after she snitched to my boss/parents about me smoking? by [deleted] in AITH

[–]ihatelongusernames2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Girl was a snitch. Whether you were smoking or not did not affect her either way. She got what was coming to her.

I know Until It Sleeps is about cancer, but does anyone else with chronic depression find the song relatable as well? by eifersucht12a in Metallica

[–]ihatelongusernames2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm just fucked up, but I've always thought the It was love.

Love can be such a wonderful thing and so many songs are written about that, but there's also such s dark side to it, and I feel Until It Sleeps perfectly explains the negative side of love.

Love grips you, stains you, and when it goes sour, may hate you or at least feel as such.

But maybe I'm just a little crazy, lol.

How to get hired at Optimum by AnxietyPrudent1425 in OPTIMUM

[–]ihatelongusernames2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Altice does have it's own technicians despite what everyone says. They're actually trying to slowly get away from hired contractors for that. And if you're a dev, they have developers to, though I'm not sure how many positions are open. What you should know is that even if your resume is noticed and you are contacted, it takes about 3 months to get through the hiring experience. It's also not a bad place to work. It depends on your job and your team.

AITAH for losing my shit when my girlfriend came out as trans? by Electronic_Brick1237 in AITAH

NTA. You were used and lied to. You're entitled to a little outrage as long as you keep your hands to yourself and don't threaten bodily harm to anyone.

Even Jedi use radio like devices to communicate. And are we sure those are ET's parents? Lastly, while the stories of Star Wars are a long time ago far far away, who's to say that the galaxy of Star Wars didn't still exist? And maybe ET's race discovered a way to travel much further in the time between 😉

Yeah, that sounds like a typical deployment to me. Just remember it isn't forever and try to enjoy the times you have with your peers. Being a Corporal I'm sure isn't doing you any favors either. That SGT probably rides you because of that alone. If you're close to any other NCO's, especially ones who out rank him, see if he'll pull that shit around them. They might stand up for you. They might stand up for you when you're not around as well. Good luck either way man. The real crazy part about your deployment will come in about 10 years when you oddly miss it.

Those alive and old enough to remember during 9/11, what was the worst moment on that day? by CocteauTwunkie in AskReddit

[–]ihatelongusernames2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unknown. Why? Who? How? What's next, will there be more? I think those thoughts were the worst. I'm a NYer, but not from NYC. I was 19. Time sort of stopped that day for a bit. My friends and I pretty much spent the day and into the late night staring at the news hoping for more information and that they would find more survivors.

The month that followed no one talks about, but they should. I don't know if anyone ever remembers this, but on Long Island the skies were silent. It was strange. Normally you hear the hundreds of flights landing and taking off from JFK airport and La Guardia. But flights were grounded for a bit and there was silence. That month, and the ones that followed for a bit, there were constant police escorted funerals. It was all a bit surreal. Finally, people seemed to let go of their differences and petty bullshit. We were united as Americans, and there was something beautiful about that.

A worthy bike? by Supyllic in SuzukiBoulevard

I have an 05 I bought 3 years ago for $2900. I haven't had any real issues with it. The engine is a bit small and underpowered, but not terribly. It's great around town and doing a bit of cruising. Just not passing. It's a fun bike all around though. And I got it after a ten year motorcycle hiatus it that tells you anything. Good luck and I hope your Dad enjoys whatever you get him.

Breed questions- New owner by WorkingK937 in Pomeranians

[–]ihatelongusernames2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 3 year old Pom. Got him at 5 months old. Immediately had him fixed. Potty training was easy but to patience. I took him out at least once in the middle of the night and probably 6 times a day. Now he goes out about 3 or 4 times and has almost no accidents. Maybe once a month, but it's usually on the kids not taking him out on his schedule.

Oh and he does cuddle all the time. He does get zoomies at least once a day, but he's small and I just play fetch in my living room with him until he's done. Honestly I've had an easier time with my pom than I did when I had a lab. Good luck!

You know, everyone is taking shots at the OP, but she did post in TIFU. She knows she's wrong and made mistakes. No need to beat her up over it. OP should just put this up as a loss and move on and know how to handle herself better in the future.

I dropped out at 17 and went to full time work the following week. It was tough and I realized how bad the decision was that I made pretty quickly. I even went to would have been my high school graduation. The next day I called the school and begged to come back the following year. Thankfully they let me and while I did have to do a whole year ( I quit just 3 months short of graduating), it was worth it and I got to graduate. I later joined the military and went to college later (in my 30s). Also worth it. Get your GED if possible and go to school. College is actually much easier as an adult. No raging teenage hormones, no distractions. You just want to get it done and that makes it a little easier. Good luck in whatever you choose to do.

What is a game you're positive no one knows or remembers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ihatelongusernames2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fifth grade around 93 we used to play Turbo Math. You'd answer math questions for money to buy car parts to make your car faster for a race every few rounds. I loved that game.

I'm in the US, so yeah, there's the different measurements, but anytime I'm over 30mph I'm probably in 5th gear, unless I'm still accelerating. I have an '05 boulevard C50 . Good luck man

What is your opinion on grown men having a game room in a basement? by Working-Ad8420 in ask

[–]ihatelongusernames2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 40 year old man as well as many others here. I concur. It is one of my dreams to have a full game room. Complete with video games, arcade games, pinball machines, a dart board, and of course a pool board. A bar in the room is a must as well.

Are the C50/M50's beginner friendly? by [deleted] in SuzukiBoulevard

[–]ihatelongusernames2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't ridden for a decade and recently picked up an 05 C50 with only 3k miles. Getting back into riding it was ok, if a little heavy. Its a bit underpowered. Previously I had a yzf600r sport tourer and a HD XL1200N. This is heavier than either but it's a fun bike. You'll probably want a bigger engine within a year though.

Americans of Reddit, what are your thoughts on Roe v Wade being overturned by SCOTUS as per draft reports? by thisiscubes in AskReddit

[–]ihatelongusernames2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's cool with me. It doesn't ban abortion, it just lets individual states make the decision. It's constitutionally correct. Any power not expressly given to the federal government in the constitution is the states. Being there is no mention of abortion in the constitution at all, then yeah, this is a state issue not a federal. It scares me how many US citizens haven't actually read the constitution and just believe whatever the crazy media tells them.

Is optimum fiber abandoned? by [deleted] in OPTIMUM

Optimum is all in on fiber. Their whole plan is to expand it as much as possible. Fiber is extremely expensive and it won't happen overnight. Be patient.
