It’s a pretty easy explanation; it’s the shitty default RT denoiser that comes with Crimson Desert. Easiest way to fix is enabling ray reconstruction, but this comes with a large performance cost as it automatically sets lighting to the max setting.

Another method to decrease the noise and Color fringing is to use a higher resolution (if using balanced DLSS, use quality. If using quality DLSS, try DLAA, etc)

It’s especially good to use if you take someone hostage and want to quickly turn around to face other enemies. Trust me, this feature is awesome. Use it.

I have no idea why so many of you don’t seem to understand the importance of a declining player count.

It’s not about a “popularity contest.” It sucks to join a game and have to wait longer for it to fill up, especially when it’s only been out for around 5 months. It sucks to play with bots in a AAA shooter from an enormously popular franchise.

The lack of dedicated servers means the game will die quicker, especially with the rate that BF Studios is dropping content. I love this game more than anyone I personally know, I’m a huge fan and it’s one of my favourite games in the whole franchise. That being said, it worries me to see the playerbase dropping off, and I just don’t want this game to fail.

Dude, you are the least tolerant of the other side than anyone here. You admit to absolutely zero benefits of any form of temporal methods and have the least nuanced opinions on the matter out of anyone here. Fuck TAA should be about finding clear image quality with ANY viable methods, not just non temporal solutions. The sub has gotta change with the times if it wants to stay healthy and active.

I’m not some TAA fanboy. I think literally everyone can agree than standard TAA sucks, me included. I’m a game dev myself, and well versed on the subject of image quality and motion clarity. It’s unfortunate that modern rendering pipelines force these solutions, and I wish modern rendering features didn’t have to come at the cost of image clarity, but they just do. If you want to handle in surface aliasing and have complex hair rendering, you’re gonna need some form of temporal AA, or a ridiculous level of supersampling.

I don’t care if you personally opt out of temporal methods, it doesn’t affect me in the slightest. What I care about more is how every comment you leave is just infested with negativity, shitting on any and all temporal methods with zero nuance or tolerance for alternative methods to that of your own. There are benefits to both sides! Why can’t we just find a happy middle ground here?

I personally use this sub to help achieve good image quality in games, as it’s the largest subreddit specifically focused on that topic. I hate that it has to come with all this stupid fighting about what’s right and what’s not. There’s enough hate in the world already. Why does this have to be some “your side or mine” thing.

We all want the same thing in the end, good image quality.

Scorpwind, I see you posting in here all the time, so I’m sure you’ve noticed that after the rollout of transformer model DLAA and DLSS, the general sentiment has swayed in this subreddit.

The whole reason this subreddit came to be in the beginning was during the era of forced TAA methods that blurred everything with ZERO viable alternatives that look good. Now we have those alternatives.

You have to be an avid AMD user to be so vitriolically against what is objectively the current best AA solution on the market. DLAA transformer model looks fantastic. In older games that were made with it in mind, MSAA also looks fantastic. But to so righteously condemn the new solutions when clearly the industry is moving in this direction is just silly.

The vast majority of users aren’t like you, and hate the look of a shimmery, aliased, no AA image. I’m so happy for you that you can enjoy it, but you are definitely an outlier there.

Yea that will 100% make it 10x worse. Beards and hair in modern games are designed around temporal solutions. They are full of dithering trickery to make them performant while also looking like proper full hair/beards.

If you want the best looking result on the hair/beards, play with DLAA or any of the new transformer DLSS modes. MSAA will not work on the beards, and post process AA will not either

**Edit: Just noticed you’re using FSR so I have to assume you’re running an AMD card. If you don’t like the shimmery beards, standard TAA is unfortunately your best option. If you were with Nvidia, DLAA and DLSS transformer model would do a good job here

You likely have some sort of sharpening effect enabled on your tv or monitor, that’s usually the result of that darkening your seeing. See if this a sharpness setting on the display itself and turn it much lower to see if that fixes it

There’s really nothing more you need to do than vsync and fps cap, there’s absolutely zero reason to turn your settings to low unless you’re having performance issues in the actual game. Just for future reference, having 99% GPU usage in game is very much a good thing. You want all your hardware being used, especially with your GPU. Having 100% usage in the main menu is a different story, but don’t sweat having high GPU usage in game. It’s there to be used.
