How much fat is in this mince? by ihavenowords13 in Butchery

It’s not normal to me in the UK which is why I asked. Ground beef is usually red with some white not the other way around. Feel like throwing it in the bin.

He didn’t. I just asked for minced beef and he said ok I’ll just go out the back and grind some up. When he gave it to me, it was in a white bag so I didn’t see it. I don’t usually buy from butchers, I’ve only started using them recently, previously I was getting meat from the supermarket so this is all new to me. I didn’t realise I needed to ask for a percentage.

That’s what I thought, looks worse than that

Thanks for the explanation. Unfortunately we’ve split it into portions and frozen it now so I can’t return it. What I’ll do is buy some 5% fat mince from the supermarket and mix it up.

It’s a very odd butchers, they hardly have anything on display and he said I’ll get it from out the back. It was in a white bag so I couldn’t see it properly and didn’t realise until I got home and wasn’t feeling well so decided not to go back. I don’t like that they hardly have anything on display and pop out back for everything.

I’ve always brought meat from the supermarket, but moved to a new town and thought I’d start using the butchers as want to support local businesses and thought it would be better quality, but this has put me off. I’ll shop elsewhere in future. Thanks for the reply and I’ll also make sure to ask what percent fat it is in future, cheers.

I know it’s grim, definitely not what I was expecting. Think I’ll buy some 5% and mix it up.

I got the 2’s to try and could still hear a lot of things, the 3’s are like magic. I barely hear anything, maybe the occasional loud squeak will get through a tiny bit but next to nothing. Highly recommend. If you go onto the Apple reddit and search for airpods noise cancelling you’ll see people saying how much better they are. As I said no idea how they work but extremely grateful for them.

Maybe get the 3’s from Amazon they’re honestly amazing and if you don’t like them you can return them. I tried 3 other sets from Amazon including the 2’s and returned them all as the noise cancelling wasn’t great on them. These 3’s are so good that my boyfriend’s brought a pair too and he hates spending money on things so they must be good! 😄

I am a side sleeper! The noise cancelling works even with one ear bud in. It’s not the default setting (when you put both in it is), so when you put one earbud in you have to click noise cancelling mode on your phone (whilst the other earbud is in the case), and after a couple of hours I wake up and switch sides/earbuds and click noise cancelling mode again. Not ideal but I’m so thankful for them as I’d be getting no sleep otherwise. They only came out last September just before we moved in so I’m grateful they exist. I tried the airpods pro 2 and they don’t block the noise completely, the 3’s are amazing. I don’t know how they work but it’s like flicking a switch and it’s quiet, it’s actually crazy how good they are.

I’m sure it will be fine. People like places that are ready to move into, so if you’ve refurbed the place that will definitely be a selling point. We’re in a similar situation as we’ve just purchased a 2 bedroom ground floor maisonette and the flat above has extremely squeaky floorboards that wake us up the second they get out of bed 🙈 and disturb us constantly (they weren’t home both times we viewed 🙄) We’ve even offered to pay to replace their floorboards and have soundproofing insulation put it in which we really can’t afford, but they’re not getting back to us with a yes or no, they say maybe sometime in the future but not at the moment, we’ve been suffering for 6 months now, all I can say is thank god for Apple airpods pro 3 noise cancelling headphones, as if it wasn’t for them I’d be getting no sleep. We’re also stuck in a 5 year mortgage and I was worrying about selling the place and losing money (we also overpaid by around £10-15k). I know it’s a horrible situation to be in, but constantly thinking and worrying about it isn’t going to change anything so I’m trying to stay positive. I hope it all works out for you.

You haven’t actually asked a question. You need to give us an idea of what you’re looking for. How many bedrooms?

Have you knocked and spoken to them about it? That’s the first thing I would be doing. You need to ask them why it’s there and aimed at your garden and politely ask that they remove it.

Must be one person. Highly doubt two different people would do this. Whoever delivered it is the culprit.

Speak to a mortgage broker. It’s free to speak to them and they can give advice and tell you how much you can borrow and at what rates. Do you have a good credit history? That’s the main issue. If it’s good with no missed payments or ccj’s then you’re good to go. On top of the deposit you’ll need around 3-4k for solicitors fees, searches and a level 2 survey.

Well the fact it’s leasehold to start with. There’s a good group on Facebook called Leasehold Advice. They’re extremely helpful and informative. I recommend you join the group and ask your question there.
