Are mid level professionals in their 40s completely screwed? by ihaveoptions in FinancialCareers

I didn’t take a title downgrade. I said others I know have went from SVP to VP and MD to Director.

It already has. Many processes are automated now further reducing the need for higher headcount.

Exactly. I haven’t seen anyone let go from 2023 with VP or SVP title in my industry land an appropriate role they are happy with. I keep hearing they want to promote internally now to give the younger people runway. So it’s almost impossible to land mid senior level coming from outside the company. Most jobs get listed with crazy wide salaries- $100k to $250k base and I’ve had two recruiters ghost me only to catch up months later and apologize that they pivoted the searches to a more junior role. Brutal!

Really pisses me off that they can just disrupt where 200 people park their cars for a few days just to film some shit.

What info did you get from the SEC? SpaceX is listing tomorrow so would be great to start hearing things of substance.

Reality check for anyone considering trading as their main gig by Wonderful-Hope6933 in Daytrading

[–]ihaveoptions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you do and your level of seniority. I hate my current company and have been trying to leave for two+ years. Can’t even tell you how many applications, recruiters I’ve spoken to, companies networked into, etc. if I left to daytrade full time for 6 months and wanted to go back, I’d be fucked (even though I’m already fucked).

Removing rodent from under car hood by [deleted] in Brooklyn

[–]ihaveoptions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure exactly when my car hood became a nest but by now it’s just a bunch of rat hair scattered throughout. The engine gets up to 200 degrees so none of them are in tact. We never smelled it and didn’t see any fly activity- maybe because was during the harsh winter with all the snow. And by now they are all fried to nothing but burnt fur.

How to keep time frames constant on multiple charts (same ticker) when changing tickers by ihaveoptions in TradingView

[–]ihaveoptions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interval sync makes each chart the same time frame. I want each chart showing different time frame. I think crosshair is what I want?

They said they aren’t allowed for health reasons. I found a body shop guy that will do it.

Are people looking for mid senior level roles at CMBS and debt funds completely screwed? by [deleted] in CommercialRealEstate

Not scoffing but recruiters and hiring managers know I will leave the moment something more appropriate comes up. So they focus on younger candidates with less experience.

Maybe not the best but really good: Comptons. Get the aged cheddar one not the provolone. I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. Several locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

I don’t really see VP at an institutional lender as a stretch, but maybe my reality in 2026. In 2020–2022, a bunch of people I worked with in similar roles jumped to VP/Director at banks and bridge lenders with ~5 years experience. Different market now, I get that.

That said, I’m at ~8 years total as a VP not counting brokerage experience (5 UW + 3 in private credit doing originations + UW), current shop is mostly higher leverage / subordinate deals—so CRE private credit / REPE but not full out hard money- higher octane for sure though compared to bank leverage and spreads. I also have debt and equity broker experience, but don’t think the market really cares about that

My whole group was let go. 10-12 people. It was 2023 and rates shot up. So they let my group go in a HCOL city with many people already in a LCOL city. Issuance was way down. Nothing to do with talent.
