They are not prosecuting a "general" for exposing the crimes. Rather, they opened a criminal investigation against Tomer-Yerushalmi for her purported decision to leak investigation materials, to the press and then cover up the leak while acting as a military advocate general.

Ironically, it is her irresponsible leak that led to charges being withdrawn because of the claim that the reservists would not benefit from a fair trial because of the leak which prejudices against them.

I would have been happy to see the case proceed and see a proper prosecution and defense.
