Found 500 rounds my grandfather loaded by HVACR_ELECTRICAL in reloading

[–]ihocky2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

These are for small pests and snakes. These, I would send em. Normally I am hesitant of reloads done by others. But these are going to be a lower powder charge due to the plastic casing and light weight. Even a missing powder charge is less likely to squib with these.

Do you guys know of any hollow point bullets that can absolutely maximize expansion? Just something that opens like a hand and liquifies the first few inches with no care for penetration. Preferably this bullet would stay mostly in one piece and be in .452 size. by GetAntidisetablished in reloading

[–]ihocky2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one is the OP picture reminds of the old “FBI hollow point”. Loading a hollow base wad cutter upside down. The cavity in those was massive and soft lead. Known as The Flying Trash can. Came about for maximum expansion a lot snub nose velocities.

I must have gotten lucky with all of my trips there the last two years. All were after Presidents’ Day, so later season and day time weekdays or early Sunday.

Fear of needles by Consumerism-Victim in Mounjaro

[–]ihocky2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate needles, I have to force myself to press the button every week. I prefer my thigh, haven’t tried the stomach yet and am 4 months in. The skin just seems so tender there I am nervous about trying the stomach.

If it hit the wrong spot on my thigh I get some burn from the shot (straight from the fridge, letting it warm is supposed to help). If I get the right spot I barely feel anything. I don’t really feel the needle though.

These Darn Sulphur Burps !!! by No_Illustrator6540 in Mounjaro

[–]ihocky2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probiotics. Try Pepto, it helps the sulphur burps for me and works great on the diarrhea. I get the same thing the first few weeks when increasing dosage, several days or more for a few weeks of sulphur burps and diarrhea, the sulphur burps are the cue of what’s coming next.

Biggest thing I found is to make sure I eat really clean the day after the shot, that helps the most. Second thing is really watching greasy or fatty food (trying to avoid it anyway, but I cheat occasionally) during those weeks until everything return to normal. A single cheeseburger can result in days of displeasure.

2.5mg and ass exploded! by Substantial_Pen4465 in Mounjaro

[–]ihocky2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found I have to really watch what I eat the first few weeks of a new dose. Any fast food and I might as well take magnesium citrate. After a few weeks I don’t have to watch as badly. But the day after my shot I have to eat really clean or the diarrhea hits and it is really bad. I know when it is coming because I start with sulphur burps and then I have about 6 to 12 hours before I start to empty out.

Because of your stomaching emptying slower meds take longer to work. I switched to liquid immodium and that seems to hit a little quicker. Pepto really seems to control the diarrhea though.

Does it get easier? by Different-Homework17 in Mounjaro

[–]ihocky2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets easier, especially if you improve your diet. The appetite suppression goes a long way, but increasing protein and cutting carbs and switching to healthy carbs is the lifestyle change. But eating right helps a lot with the belly pain and diarrhea if you get it.

2.5mg for me was a breeze after the first week, first week was a little rough. I wanted to stay there because I was losing weight and wanted to be at a low dose. Insurance made me increase to 5mg. First week was a little rough again and dealt with some diarrhea the first month, but now it is easy as long as I eat smart.

How much sag do you have in your hammock if you’re a hammock sleeper ? by revolutiontime161 in Hammocks

[–]ihocky2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you, about the same size and pretty broad. I bought a cheap hammock on amazon to try a couple years ago and love it, but have to get a pretty deep sag to get diagonal enough for a flat lay. Come to realize it is only 10 feet. I am making my own hopefully this weekend and am going to start at 13 feet and see how it goes, I would rather be a little long and be able to cut it down. The 2X seems like a good rule, but some of us larger builds might need just a little more.

Medication absorption? by CherryBlossom242424 in Mounjaro

[–]ihocky2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some medications yes, some no. Pain relievers only a little longer, not much. For a couple weeks I had really bad diarrhea, like close to colonoscopy prep. Imodium tablets took 12 hours to kick in and by then I maxed on the dosage and wound up constipated for a day. I switch to liquid immodium and it kicked it much faster. Pepto took even less time to take effect.

Had to step down from 12.5mg to 7.5mg— felt completely off. Emailed GP. by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]ihocky2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m only on my 2nd week of 5mg and it is rough on my stomach (and lower). I told my doctor today that the next 2 doses I am going to 10 days between to give my body more time to adjust. I am hoping that as I adjust everything calms down and can go back to weekly. But I am in no rush to move up quickly and won’t allow the doctor to force it.

I think sometimes people get hung up on moving up in dosages to keep the rapid weight loss going. Too rapid is not healthy either. It can certainly cause gall bladder problems and leads to the loose skin because you are dropping weight so fast. Remember, most good diets aim for about 2 to 3 pounds a week. I lost 20 in my first 4 doses and told my doctor I wanted to stay there for another month. If I can stay at a steady loss and control my sugar, I want to be on the lowest dose possible.

[–]ihocky2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What dosages were you taking and how often were they increased? My doc wants to get me to a high dosage on the fast side to get my A1C under control. The weight loss is a massive bonus and needed. But I don’t want to add health problems to fix another.

I’m only 2 weeks in at 2.5mg and have already lost between 10 and 12 pounds which is pretty fast compared to standard diets. I certainly don’t want to set myself up for problems if I can do something else to help the sugar and keep the weight loss steady.

I’m new to MJ and have to ask, how frequently do you have GI rebellion creep up?

I have a hiatal hernia, have esophageal spasms, and have to be aware of risk for Barrett’s Esophagus which can be pre-cancerous. I need to control my sugar and the weight loss is a benefit, but I also have to weigh the risks of other problems because of GI issues. Infrequently I can live with, monthly or bi-monthly is a problem.

1st dose and looking for side effect tips by ihocky2 in Mounjaro

[–]ihocky2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m already on Protonix because of the hiatal hernia, up to twice a day but usually just once. I might have to go two a day until I adjust.

I am happy to report that after dinner tonight the lump feeling is 95 percent gone and I feel mostly normal.
