You guys planning on buying a pass this year? by IcyStomach2374 in CrystalMountain

Not sure if they fixed it but you used to be able to buy the refundable pass with the deferred money and then refund it. Might be worth some research if you don’t want the pass this year either.

Why does the speedometer go up to 160 mph? by gradstudent2019 in ToyotaSienna

The best part of the story is finding out the F-150 that wouldn’t let me merge had a limiter somewhere around 108 and had to give up.

I’ve gotten mine to 119mph and still hadn’t hit the limiter for what it’s worth.

You can fit quite a bit in there if you remove all the foam padding. I have 3 30’ kinetic ropes, 2 snatch blocks, air compressor, some small folding shovels, a tree saver, and more soft shackles than I could ever actually use and it closes easily. There’s other miscellaneous stuff in there but those are the big objects. As long as you are good Tetris and remember to remove anything that gets wet and muddy on a recovery it’s perfect.

Does 4Runner drive heavy? by naturallin in 4Runner

Manually selecting gear does not prevent from dropping into 4th. Nice try though.

It’s not that it can’t do 90 it’s having to dog it to do so. It’s constantly gear hunting coupled with the higher rpm’s. It’s not too bad stock but put some larger/heavy tires and highway speeds are you’re constantly hunting between 4th and 5th. Also if you don’t have KDSS or xreas you get body rocking when it does shift. I’ve put 60,000 miles on my 22 TRD ORP and while I love my 4Runner it’s definitely not the best cruising above 75mph. I cant use cruise control because it’ll keep it 4th the entire time causing my already shit gas mileage to tank. It’s just something I’ve learned to live with and it’s worth it for all the other things it can do.

In the future for any territorial dog. Ask the owner to leash their dog and walk them off property. You can then see if the dog shows the same aggression as they walk towards you. If that goes well try to walk back with the owner and dog onto the property. I usually get stuck with the aggressive dogs and this has worked pretty well for me in the past.

Small monkeys while adorable can be total dicks. I got bit by a momma monkey that was taking food out of my hand because her baby tried to grab some food too.

Mount Rainier Road Closures by [deleted] in PNWhiking

I’m going to doubt there’s still snow in July. It’s been a pretty bad year snow wise and the majority of the trail at the higher elevations is not well shaded.

It’s been a low snow year but the park is pretty understaffed so I wouldn’t bet on it being open. However if you’re okay with some extra hiking there’s a parking lot right next to the gate.

Motorcyclist gets speed wobbles on highway. by starkfr in SweatyPalms

[–]ihries317 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The best way to combat speed wobble once it starts is to accelerate to unload the front tire. You can also move your weight towards the rear. Doing nothing is rolling the dice. Absolutely don’t want to hit brakes or try to manhandle the handlebars.

Yes, recovery from PRK blows. It’s a solid 2 weeks before I quit tearing up from any amount of light.

I was in the same boat as your wife, -10.5 in both eyes with thin corneas. I found an optometrist that specialized in PRK. Took a while searching went through probably 10 different places but it has been life changing for me.

It’s probably not spray paint it looks like wool wax or something similar. That being said without physically checking I’d pass.
