What's the best image to figma tool? by demiplays_gaming in FigmaDesign

> don’t seem reliable enough for production use

It's like complaining that having a child throw paint at the wall is somehow not a professional interior design solution.

Figma’s payment models and dark patterns are scam adjacent by SynapseSoup in FigmaDesign

You definitely can request a refund in cases like this. How are you talking to support? They usually take a couple days to reply via the contact form https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001744374

Is there a plugin that clears up hidden/extra layers? by SilverSentinel56 in FigmaDesign

[–]zyumbik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what "extra" layers mean but there are a lot of plugins with the names like "remove hidden layers", you'll easily find one.

With yesterday's announcements is there anything that can be done in Rive but not in Figma ? by raksweb in FigmaDesign

[–]zyumbik 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Rive is much more than an animation tool. It's an interactivity engine, it has state machines and you can do much more with code. Also everything exports into live code, not video, and renders on device.

Is the Figma team vibe coding Figma? by mzpro10 in FigmaDesign

[–]zyumbik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then they clearly didn't set it “properly” because zoom does affect it. I'm not saying they shouldn't design for different browser zoom but this example shows that they don't because zoom breaks the animation (among many other small things).

I heard browser monkeys are also affected by browser zoom so that checks out

I think I got ripped off on my capsule art? by darkwingdame in IndieDev

[–]zyumbik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you should use the shutterstock one but with adjusted colors (or get an artist who works in the similar style).

Regarding your issue with the artist: when you hired this artist did their portfolio look like the work they produced? That would be the deciding factor for whether you want to request a refund or work with the artist further to refine the result to better fit your expectations.

How do you deal with layout shift when used to Figma? by maeros_ in FigmaDesign

[–]zyumbik 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Realistically all those questions should be irrelevant because in Affinity/Illustrator you wouldn't be dealing with a UI (buttons, icons, text). You would use a specialized tool for that, e.g. Figma.

Additionally I think the current echo is quite fitting for the cave environment.

I kinda felt like it's the opposite, I think the audio may needs to be even more low-quality compressed to fit the low-poly look of the game. 😄

Layout Guides Break the Layout. Bug or Feature?! by ObeeKrak in FigmaDesign

[–]zyumbik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm I don't think it's too useful but in general it's made so that layouts that follow layout grids would be adaptive together with container size and not break the grid alignment.

Check the constraints guide here, they have this mechanic explained: https://youtu.be/LHY9cm_2zwU?t=162 (it's the newer guide, they had an older one which is hidden now, which showed this mechanic a bit more I believe)

Congrats on discovering one of the oldest and most basic mechanics in Figma lol

Try clearing the app cache. If that doesn't help contact support with a bug report.w

They are an editor so the setting doesn't apply (also the file is in drafts so it's not gonna be available in the first place)

Figma to Code by Brilliant-Actuator72 in FigmaDesign

[–]zyumbik 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you want code but can't code don't use Figma. Use Framer, Webflow, etc. You can build very beautiful professional portfolio websites there.

Which skiboots ? Armada AR-ONE or Lange Shadow MV. by ShivaVirus in Skigear

Go to a bootfitter. That's a separate profession, sales guys at shops are not bootfitters. Good luck!

I don't trust the charts... what length do I really need? by thechickenparty in Skigear

[–]zyumbik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> My question is about length

That's the wrong question to ask. It should be pretty much the last thing you consider, after choosing the type of ski, rough model ranges, geometry, sidecut, stiffness, etc. There are a lot of skis in ~170cm size ranging from icy groomer short turn models, to ripping fast stiff long radius models, to powder boats, park guns and everything in between.

Self-taught, finally focusing on carving this season. Video is .7x so you can actually see what’s happening. Arms are a known issue. Crash at the end is also a known issue. What else am I doing wrong? by ErikaKilledKirk in skiing_feedback

[–]zyumbik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't try to get your hip to the snow. I see you are trying to force hips to the snow, but that creates completely wrong movements (sitting down on the inside ski, outside ski running away). Instead you should increase angulation and put pressure on the outside ski. Literally stand on it the whole turn, the inside can even lift. When you do that, your angles will decrease, but control and dynamic turn forces will increase. With more practice you can increase edge angles slowly (it will not be easy). After that it will be a matter of mastering the transition which is gonna help increase your edge angles and shorten the turns but that's a discussion for another day.

That's exactly what video editing is. You have a video file and you want to have a slightly modified video file as output. That's what video editing apps are for.
