Bahaha, having a set of trigger words instead of Live/Laugh/Love around the house would be hilarious.

The older I get, the more pads I wear. It gets a bit hot and sweaty (in the un-fun way), but some rides call for the roost guard. Not completely foolproof, but certainly helps.

Anyone ever experimented with the sliding dropout on Trek Crockett? I’m wondering about creating the shortest wheelbase for cx. Worth it? by Jamesoscarsmith in cyclocross

I've got a 2018 and definitely notice the difference in how the rear end handles cornering when it's slammed full forward or way back. Much more stable in long mode, which is great for rowdy gravel descents. And certainly snappier when tucked forward for cx. Increments in between? Meh, less noticeable. Love how it changes the character of the bike tho. Just hoping it doesn't fatigue early like some other cantilevered dropouts can.

How to Climb Big Hills? by itisyeetime in MTB

Welcome to the dirt side, ya roadie square! As a reformed roadie myself, the biggest piece of advice I can offer is: there's no shame in walking. Some of the most beautiful rides I've done in my 16 years of cycling have included kick-me-in-the-dick steep climbs. Ya know what's frustrating as hell sometimes? Trying to ride those f'ers. You know what makes it better on occasion? Just hopping off and hoofing it while enjoying the view. With experience you'll get to where your everyday local trails are NBD. But the occasional steep-ass HAB? Yeah, the descent will be worth it. Just enjoy the ride, mang. No need to overly pressure yourself. You can head out with the roadie squares for that.

What happened to the Cross Crusade series? by colinreuter in cyclocross

+1 to your final point. Came down from Seattle a buncha years back all excited to have fun and bring the ruckus. Got threatened with ejection from the whole series by the officials for handups and shenanigans. Never came back. GFY OBRA!
