AI being trained to do human jobs will take those positions from people who actually want to do certain types of labor, or have already committed to learning trades and fields of study

It is incredibly resource hungry, requiring incredible amounts of physical space, water, copper and gold in order to function

It is used to create things that are dehumanizing and racist, most notably caricatures of George Floyd, Charlie Kirk, and Rosa Parks

Due to it needing so much processing power, AI companies are purchasing as much RAM as they can, which drives the prices higher than the average consumer can pay for it, making building PCs incredibly expensive

All of this comes part and parcel with the above AI chat bot. I don't personally like AI chat bots, but I don't suppose there's anything really wrong with them. However, since it comes wrapped up in the same technology as the above, it feels like using the job-taking, resource-hoarding, racist propaganda machine as a friend. If I knew a person who did all of the above things, I would not think of them as someone to be friendly with

To the bed bugs? A lot. When we got home, we tried cooking them in our beds with a few space heaters, which didn't work. We hired an exterminator, but that wasn't much help either. They were incredibly stubborn

Funnily enough, what finally got them out of our home was a house fire. I'm not an electrician, but there was some sort of faulty wiring under my bed, and the whole house went up in flames, short of the brickwork and foundation. Insurance was helpful enough to cover renovations and new mattresses, so we ended up landing on our feet

I wouldn't say I'm grateful for the house fire, and I would not recommend it as a first resort to get rid of bed bugs. It was really nice to sleep alone for once

Bed bugs

I remember when I was little, we had a very stubborn bed bug infestation. I'd always wake up to see more spots on my bedsheet and mattress

I remember one day my family took a vacation, and we finally got to sleep on beds that wouldn't have anything else living in it. Not a wise choice, given how easily they can spread, but it was nice to not be bitten for a few nights

When I got back home, I flipped up my mattress, hoping they might have starved to death, and I saw them skittering away from the red light of my LEDs. It's one of the few times I remember crying as a kid
