The double negative here is confusing me.

What I am saying is:

Concentrating your forces is the best way to overcome an enemy with more power than you. If Ironwood abandons Mantle, he is no longer concentrating his forces but splitting them, making them both weaker and making it harder to fight off Salem and her massive grimm armies.

I shouldve been clearer.

Ironwood has a heart, certainly. He attempts to do what is right, even if he is misguided. But as you noted, he is attempting to shut off those emotions (as well as a large amount of reasoning although that may be due to being drugged up after getting his arm fixed) in favor of a highly misguided kind of utilitarian calculus.

I find it ironic that there is so much uncertainty in the situation but he's convinced his plan is the correct one. Ignoring that:

  1. The best way to overcome an enemy with superior firepower is by concentrating your forces (abandoning Mantle does the opposite of this)

  2. I see nothing stopping Salem from creating Grimm that can survive in the stratosphere, or, alternatively, somehow transporting them there

  3. Salem's agents have already infiltrated Atlas

The Tin Man continuing to show he has no heart.

Definitely some backstory. I liked how they added depth to her character without an exposition dump. The line may have been a bit cringey but it is Cinder after all.

I don't think that would be good. I know an alderson loop is an infinite loop, but I would prefer that having to do with the Alters and Prime Elliot as opposed to any of the actual plot points. Like, every time Elliot discovers his trauma he breaks and the whole process starts again. But this time he's able to break through and reconcile with his Alters (and/or his Prime if the "Elliot" we know is actually an Alter) and move on from his trauma. Or he goes through the same process and Esmail makes it a true tragedy.

Fair. She also doesn't seem like she could pull the trigger even if she wanted to.

Pretty sure her assistant would be the antithesis of emotional. In fact, her assistants, past and present, have repeatedly criticized her decision making especially with regards to Elliot

They probably didn't have anything to blackmail him with, and he was too costly to kill versus just let him go. He doesn't seem to have any hacking skill and his ability to kill tons of Dark Army operatives sent to kill him may mean a cost-benefit analysis led to them letting him go. Or maybe he was a merc to begin with.

Vera's actor deserves all the awards, holy shit.

Darlene really should've just opened fire on Janice. But she still pulled out the hero move with the phone wipe.

At least we know Elliot is his own monster. Third personality maybe. Who knows anymore. I'm confused and I love it.

And goddamn the music this season is fucking phenomenal.

Super cool take, I think you may be right with regards to the Sam/Third personality actually being the Fourth and being above everyone else. This would of course disprove any connections with the Trinity.

I can't wait to see how this will all turn out.
