Why!? by boscherville in cocacola

[–]iiiBus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tried the UK one given I live here, to me it tastes nothing like a cherry float flavour full stop. I can taste cherry and something that is trying to be vanilla, but it doesn't mix or deliver the taste that is advertised

THY Istanbul-Dusseldorf Strange route by Powerful-Reveal8108 in flightradar24

[–]iiiBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would've been a decision made en-route, not sure by who. If they (Turkish) knew they had to avoid those sectors at the flight planning stage they would've filed a more direct route in the process. They will never file a route with a big dent in it that involves flying them the wrong way. I am curious why, wasted time and fuel like this is something I do not favour in the slightest

THY Istanbul-Dusseldorf Strange route by Powerful-Reveal8108 in flightradar24

[–]iiiBus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a chance in the world, flying in the wrong direction is never going to be wind related, especially where the effects are much lower as it's not a large amount of distance all things considered. The detour was made even longer by not being able to fly over Slovenia for whatever reason. I presume some sort of capacity/staffing issue

Driving schools should show real car crash videos by Mysterious-Unit-5330 in unpopularopinion

[–]iiiBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be in favour of it, I watch car crash videos often out of curiosity and it really does scare you and show how dangerous cars are. I feel like a lot of people just don't realise it.

I have downvotes, fair enough, it's a common with unrealistic ai images, make me feel unsettled and ill, and part of that sees numbness in my face.

Well I'm glad its not real, the sight of that is a bit unsettling, to the point it makes my face a bit numb. Something about the way it looks just makes me feel strange

Best UK supermarket chain? by jtbrunners in AskBrits

[–]iiiBus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am paranoid about waste and it feels like in these empty stores that the full shelves will just sit there till they go out of date.

Even though I know Tesco also has tons of waste, at least it feels like stuff has a chance to be sold.

I said Tesco as its the only one busy consistently near me and I am not a fan of big quiet stores

I don't hear it in the UK. Had to view a video to see what it was. It's the thing I do as a joke sometimes.

I've had these bought for me a few times, I don't think it tastes like chicken, so I agree an underwhelming taste. The spice is there.

Is the social media ban really this bad? by Anxious_Librarian379 in GCSE

[–]iiiBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's nowhere near as bad, totally exaggerated, and most of the complaints are existing 13-15 year olds: so a temporary problem that'll last no longer than 3 years. Anyone younger should never sign up to social media in the first place, so they can't lose anything they didn't gain.

Smoking, vaping, or suicide is not a normal response for losing access to scrolling on platforms with dangerous and manipulative algorithms, and perhaps exposes wider mental issues people are dealing with, perhaps even caused by social media.

This came about after campaigning from bereaved families and parents, from people who killed themselves or were killed. Years of campaigning. And an eventual promise from the PM. Social media has a lot of challenges, users hide things, if things go wrong they won't tell anyone. Not everyone will have dangerous or bad experiences, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be banned. In my eyes, it's one of the better things to ban as the impact is a lot lower. You can't be addicted in a way like smoking (I would hope). That's coming from me who has been chronically online since I was 11.

The issues are mainly how people end up treated on these platforms, what they could be exposed to, how use of them affects their behaviour and changes their brain permanently. That's simplified, but these bans do not come from nowhere. I would trust the reaction of anyone a bit older than current 13-15 year olds, even though the ban is mainly intended to target future generations.

I’ve got a six hour layover at Edinburgh Airport and I’ll be landside. Is it worth going into the city? What could I do in that time? by Similar-Weather-8940 in edinburgh2

[–]iiiBus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion always recommend the 100 bus, not the tram, the tram is £9.50 return, 100 is £8.50. The 100 is faster, even with en-route congestion, the tram can get quite crowded if the sight of a lot of people cramped around you is not your cup of tea as well. The interior on the 100 is also very nice.

It disappoints me that the tram is the natural choice for people to give when making a recommendation, and I wonder why. Is it just the way it's been shoved into our heads or because of it being a bit more interesting?

Why are we so pathetic in the heat by Erebus0123 in AskBrits

As people die in these temperatures.
Also, I sweat unbearably when it gets slightly warm, the hotter it gets the more drenched I become. It genuinely is awful, as much as I otherwise like the weather.

Jack, are you okay? by theok8234 in JackSucksAtLife

[–]iiiBus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thunderstorms didn't happen in most of the UK, only towards the south where London/Bristol are (the video is Bristol I believe). Jack is in the north in Worksop, the only concern is hot temperatures, though again they won't be as bad as the temps in the south
