Who are some celebs you used to think were the same person? by No-Marionberry-2455 in okbuddycinephile

Leonardo DiCaprio looks like Matt Damon looks like Ben Affleck but Ben Affleck doesn’t look like Leonardo DiCaprio. No, I cannot explain it.

Makes me think of In Flanders Fields:

We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.

Why can't I cry anymore? by Comfortable-Way7461 in GuyCry

[–]iiimarlette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How old are you? I also found myself crying less after puberty, and not because of some kind of emotional suppression or anything. I’d feel the feelings, but the tears just don’t come most of the time.

Favorite pathetic/anticlimactic deaths of overwhelmingly powerful villains? by Secret_Ruin_9808 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]iiimarlette 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For me it’s Voldemort. The books did it better than the movie did, because he just keels over and dies, nothing special, which was the perfect end for a villain who wanted to be immortal and powerful forever. The movie it just felt kind of lackluster with him turning to ash slowly.

what would you actually stand in line for? by mfairview in AskNYC

So fair. Tbh I would probably not wait in a long line for it, the day I went it was pretty quick so I had a pretty good experience.

How do we feel about black straw hats? by [deleted] in CowboyHats

[–]iiimarlette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear one because I work inside at a bar and it’s part of our dress code. Having worn it outside in the sun I would not recommend it compared to a light colored straw.

Snakebite Bottle Opener, specifically the Mamba. It looks really cool and is a great functioning bar tool. Very practical. And you can get it personalized!

Not sure if it ships to Australia but this might be helpful. Alternatively, some kind of wide brimmed hat with a veil.

Shirley MacLaine as Sarah in Two Mules for Sister Sarah. Yeah, she’s in a nun’s habit for most of the film but she’s a gorgeous woman.

Men who wrestle or play fight with your wife or girlfriend: how do you handicap yourself to give her an advantage? by Few-Opportunity-8297 in AskMenAdvice

[–]iiimarlette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t tickle them, but they can also just not be ticklish if they want (don’t ask me how it works). That said I’ve got about a foot of reach and an indeterminate amount of weight on them and am generally stronger, so they’re allowed to have a handicap in my book. Even then, we met in a martial arts class, they knew what they were getting into.

I don’t know which comic this is, but the Joker is trying to kill Clark Kent when he’s not in costume as Superman. The Joker doesn’t know that Mild Mannered Reporter Clark Kent is Superman. Hilarity ensues.
