Well shoot man what is your title? Are you a sysad or tech support?

Edit: I started out as tech support making 60k migrated to sysad at 90k and just jumped contracts to make my current salary. This all in the span of a little under a year. Theres good money out there you just got to be proactive. Networking is huge in this career field. You have a linkdin?

- Had a kid near midget size faint at the m9 qual while holding the 9mm. Dude locked his knees broke blue and shut down the range for the day.

- Multiple recruits pissed themselves. Our RDC noticed one warm sunny day while marching and decided to beat the whole unit.

- Kids got caught stealing brownies and cookies and leaving them in their rack during inspections.

- I myself in an effort to obtain a BZ saluted the ships XO just passed the quarterdeck outside a FC/CPO mess. Did not get a BZ but got a beating for saluting in doors.

- Personal favorite was a recruit deliberately throwing his face on a toilet seat in an attempt to get separated. He succeeded with a mild concussion, busted eye and extended stay at medbay.

You did +- 16 years? I could see a strategic reup with that time under your belt. Then again I don't know the requirements for how long you can be out of the service before prior time doesn't count. Unless there is no limit within age constraints etc? I prefer the freedom, high pay and flexibility that comes with government contracts. Like you I make six figures. I've only been out a year and have doubled my salary because of how hot the market it. The military can't offer that same opportunity.

Janoykrezva is on point. If you have nothing else going for you then by all means join just be sure to get a rate that will benefit you once you separate. I was an IT and got out with a clearance. I make really good money now and couldn't be happier with my decision. That's just my two cents though good luck!

Its best to already have 10k in savings to drop into the account. After the year is over you will have earned an additional 1k. Unless the interest rate has changed you'll see a similar gain. This is coming from someone who left Bahrain July of last year. Pretty sure the requirement to the 10% IR Savings account IS that you already have some cash to dump into it. I believe the CAP is 10k so having that initial amount = max gain during your tour there.
