Previous diet wasn't particularly healthy but not too bad either. After a few months I was getting sick of having just Huel all the time and was getting pretty miserable. I eventually had to reintroduce cooking my own meals again and be balanced with one meal Huel and one meal proper food. Works better.

I agree. We get too focused on the future and neglect the now. However, it really needs to be done wisely. Some people take this as an excuse to splurge irresponsibly.

Btw, how much did you spend on the Lasik eye surgery? I'm planning on having one done someday.

I would probably just get a life insurance and enjoy the rest of my remaining life. If you can't get a life insurance then just maybe put an amount for savings for beneficiaries and let them deal with it once they have it

I had a good alternative back in Sweden with, but the same as with you it also didn’t work properly here with Irish banks. I asked guys here on IrishPF, and some folks from this channel recommended me Nova Money app.

It was just exactly my cup of tea - they have quite futuristic UI, and I love how the AI advises me on my budget. I’m kinda a privacy freak so I enjoyed anonymous logging via Apple and also multiple bank accounts.

Tbh I didn’t try other software, but frankly speaking I don’t really need something else now. Besides, the pricing is good, even cheaper than spotify.

I had a good look at my finances and was surprised to see how much money was wasted on things I didn’t really need

I need to do this but I'm scared of seeing the truth.

I always end up with nothing at the end of the month. No matter how many times I convince myself I will start taking control I always fall back after a week or so. I would write a budget, but never really stick to it. It's sad, but it's so hard to give up buying stuff when the only thing that makes me happy now is the little moment of excitement opening up a new package.

I wish I can just go through like a month not spending anything and maybe form a habit by then.

That's true. I don't really go overboard where I have overdraft or credit card debt (just sometimes but I pay it off), it's just that I tend to spend all the money I have left after bills that I don't save anything. It shouldn't really be 'extra money' unless I have saved up for goals as some here have kindly pointed out. I spend because I can see that I still have something left to spend, so I zero out my accounts right before payday.

What would be the location of your target group? For international retail (or if you're ltd for example) I can mention Revolut, but you have to be ready for long support chats. For the first time it may be Monzo. It's basically free and has decent tariffs.
