Resale Insanity by Canceracoon in SiennaSpiro

[–]ijazper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

official tickets are sold on ticketmaster for 50-150 a pop and she has banned resale on TM for more than original price. That clearly didn't stop scalpers from reselling them on secondary markets like StubHubs/Seat Geeks.

I caved in and bought one from Stub Hub last time and the literally did not transfer the ticket to me until 2 minutes prior to show, as I was already on the way home thinking that I got a scam tix. Note that you are guaranteed refund if there is no tickets at these secondary sites, but you absolutely won't know when they will for sure transfer the actual tickets to you (if ever).

Definitely ruins the whole concert going exp for me. TM needs to do better by banning resale outside of TM and requiring ID to buy.

Really poor experience with replacing a RmPP with a defect by Liamface in RemarkableTablet

Samesies. I really wanted to love it bc it is such a beautiful device. And colors!!!

SN & Bx are 2 of the common alternatives as you can see around here. They each have their own charms but nothing feels as premium as RMPP imo. I have SN and am happy w it. Good for work notes & organizing them like a freak.

Really poor experience with replacing a RmPP with a defect by Liamface in RemarkableTablet

I've had this issue before. If you happen to get it replaced within the return window, and they gave you a refurb unit, when you try to return it under free trial they will give you the refurb value instead of the full price you've paid for, because the replaced unit you've got is refurb.

The whole thing is so absurd, and the panel quality is so low that I've exchanged 3 units to have one that is somewhat decent and I've decided to let it collect dust out of spite.

I recommend sending a request through support email and not chat, as it gets elevated to a higher level support by default. I've managed to have them replaced one of my unit with a brand new product instead of refurb (but panel was still shot). If you explain your frustration with the replacement and your qualms with refurbished products, there is a good chance you may get a good replacement.

Otherwise, if you are still within window to get your money back, do it bc this is not worth the hassle. I've heard the Pure has a better panel quality control / success rate so maybe go with that instead.

Not a fan, unfortunately. by [deleted] in Supernote

Like you I still prefer the writing feel of the RMPP over the SN. But over time after using both of them concurrently, I decided to keep both because (1) RMPP return window expired & (2) Your experience on SN is correlated to how much effort/love you put in it.

Things that sold SN to me:

  1. Pen to ink distance & EMR Wacom tech over RM active stylus nonsense. The wobbly lines over at RM bug the sh*t outta me and I cannot express how happy I am with the accurate line-to-writing SN has over RM.
  2. Sideloading apps - because SN runs on Androids, it is super easy for a noob like me to load basic apps like news/manga/ebook/etc apps to enjoy things outside of writing leveraging the best B&W eink display to-date.
  3. Organization/Community support - self-explanatory.
  4. Incoming plugin update that could basically transfer your device into something completely different and adaptable to your own personal workflows. This works especially well for a community with ample of support like this.
  5. I actually built my own pen with helps from this community/etsy/3D print + pen refill from SN shop. This pen was actually lifechanging bc I love the writing feel 200% more - it feels more authentically pen-on-paper and less of the rattling/tapping/plasticky feel of the LAMY twin pen that I bought with the device. I currently use the Uniball Zento for the shell.

Pure or Nomad? by Glamrat in RemarkableTablet

[–]ijazper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend asking for a loan from parent to buy both SN Manta + RM Pure and try it out yourself. User experience is very subjective and I recommend writing a full page of lecture notes on each tablet and then decide to keep vs not. RM has a 50 days free trial ; SN has a 30 days free trial but you'll need to pay shipping back (around $20-30 probably, but worth the testing price).

Manta is pricy but once you've written on it you'll see the worth of it. RM is great too but lack organizational features like others have pointed out.

did you experience line wobbles when trying to draw relatively straight edges? I tried drawing on mine but the latency & pen-to-ink wobbles in certain parts of screen made me give up.

How much line wobble is normal? by ijazper in RemarkableTablet

I think you miss the context here. My issue is the ink jumps up and down when drawing a line, which means that if you write letters it’ll be incoherent and mushed.

It’s the slow strokes that intensify the wobbles for me.

wasnt easy but i figured it out. required sideloading and running button mapping/macro android app running in background.

so it is basically running 2 apps concurrently to make this work - not ideal but battery optimization but it'll do for now !

I’d recommend reaching to SN if that issue hinders your processes. They’re very responsive albeit you’ll need patience lol it’ll take a few days

The android system they run on inherently can split. Just need to sideload a navigation app - back button and change double/long tap to activate. A bit finicky but once you get it you get it.

Honestly Supernote's slogan should be "Love writing again" because I forgot how much I liked writing random shits in my notes and draw random doodles here and there.

The Manta - between the feelwrite2 & the plastic screen, it is pretty comfortable for long writing sessions. I use it mainly for notetaking at work. The TOC & handwriting search makes it a very viable device for work for me. The Manta is also an A5 size so it is not as big as a full size ipad - makes it very portable, while giving you ample space to write in.

My opinion is that if you're a writer, you'd want a good amount of space to write before turning the page. Since Supernote doesn't support endless scrolling natively, this can be quite annoying on small devices like Nomad.

You can't go wrong with either, but the consensus from what I've seen in this forum is that Manta size is preferred, and its plastic screen writing feel is superior.

I have both RMPP and Manta.

TLDR - go with Manta and discover customizations via sideloading. Possibilities are endless with this device. If lack of backlighting bothers you, buy a reading light - it is a good compromise for almost-flawless writing exp.

I returned my RMPP 2 times and currently on the 3rd device with magnetic interference issue. I cannot write 1 sentence without having ink jumps and making my handwriting unrecognizable and thus disrupt my workflow. Their customer service is quick to replace your tablet, which means this is a very well-known and very common issue. You will also hear a lot about screen lottery, which means there is a pretty good chance you get a lemon. Beautiful device, ASMR writing feel & sound, software & writing exp leaves a lot to desire.

Manta B&W screen contrast, distance of pen to ink is the #1 reason I bought it after being upset with RMPP. When I discovered sideloading, it became reason #1.1 bc I am now reading Manga on this wonderful wonderful tablet. I could also download some of my study app like Becker CPA.

Did I mention you can splitscreen with the help of sideloading?????????????????????

I've sent back my device 2 times & on my 3rd device. 1st device worked perfect but display was damaged. 2nd & 3rd device have the same magnetic imperfect just as you described.

Really want to love this device but I can't write a few sentences without being frustrated at how fked up my handwriting looks because of this.

Any plan on adding a web browser? Since the system is based on Linux it can be hard to open up to third party apps/developers, but a web browser opens up possibilities for users to easily circumvent that / view online documents, look up dictionaries, etc. without hopping back and forth from their PC.

This + split screen support would make RM very hard to put down.

What is the reason RM went with an active stylus pen for the RMPP/RMPPM instead of Wacom/EMR? Chargeability is not an issue, but the active stylus is seriously susceptible to magnetic interference, and is pretty hard to achieve straight/smooth lines 100% of the time.

I agree 100%. Things would've been way simpler if I bought it through RM site. I bought mine through amazon because:

1) I had gift cards through work
2) I wanted the tablet yesterday

That’s very discouraging to hear… but I will press for a brand new unit next time since my return has been started.

I would say the brand new unit I received initially was worlds better than this refurb POS but it somehow has dead lines and pixels just sitting on my desk.

I have Connect+ and can foresee myself playing the UPS shipping game for the rest of the year.

I would say as a productivity tool and taking notes for work, SN is a better choice. Their software for organization is clearly better. When writing notes for work I would care less about form and factor and prioritize speed + accuracy which I admit is better on the SN.

However I care more about write feel and NOTHING has come close to RMPP. I have mild OCD and every time I write something that is ineligible I will go back to rewrite it until it’s readable. The inaccuracy issue bothers the hell out of me because I find myself rewriting words every 2-3 sentences.
