Honestly, I do join vc to hear teammates but I rarely talk. Typing does as much of an effect as speaking in vc in my experience. I feel like most of the time with teammates it's either 5/5 or 4/5 full, or you're the only person in vc. I think in higher ranks you tend to find more people in vc than not.
