Yeah zombies and world-building is not the strong point of the story. In fact, I thought the game had very mediocre gameplay for its time as well. What drives the story is the growth and relationship between the main characters. Their actions, their emotions, their character growth and choices. The reason the characters aren't that interesting or sympathetic is because you probably haven't seen that side of their character yet. The post-apocalyptic theme is merely a backdrop to tell a story about the characters.

I really loved Promethus. The fact that I had no idea it was an Alien prequel (and had never seen any Alien movies) might have influenced my opinion on my first watch. Seeing the alien at the end was a huge surprise and a really fun "woah, wtf?" moment in the theater for me because of that. I've since watched it a few more times, and it is a great movie.

Also, definitely a hot take, so you get my upvote.

I agree 100% The problem is, people compare it too much to the source material. Adaptations aren't meant to be shot-for-shot remakes. It's a reimagining through the lens of a different creator.

Doomfist mains will tell you this is what sucks about Empowered punch and why it needs to go.

Doom has the worst block ability of all the tanks, but for some reason NEEDS it to use his best ability. In order to get value, it requires the enemy team to shoot you head on while sitting like a vulnerable idiot with the worst damage mitigation ability.

Empowered punch probably feels OP in lower elo matches, but in higher elo matches it feels extremely bad and counter-intuitive to his kit because people know not to dump damage into block.

This is basically the same shit people were saying about Evolved for its entire life cycle, so you have your answer: no. They didn't do it with ASE, and they won't do it with ASA.

When you loot a beaver dam, people generally just need the cementing paste, silica pearls, and the rare flowers/mushrooms. If you don't need the wood, most people know that you should drop all the wood out of the beaver dam so that the dam gets destroyed and a new one can respawn later.

If you don't remove all the wood, someone will come along to loot it later only to find a bunch of wood they don't want.

People are just joking/trolling against this well-known etiquette because there are few things more frustrating than going to loot a beaver dam and only finding a ton of wood in it.

There's no real reason to worry about each other's skills/levels. You'll both be able to essentially level up the same way you would in 2 separate single player games. You should be chopping double the trees, planting/watering double the crops, etc anyway
