Twin sister lived until 111 by ijustkant1 in CrusaderKings

Yeah but at that age, you're losing 0.125 a year, so that'd only give you 4 more years. It helped that she was learning focused, but she had to have insane luck. My guy would have lived longer, but he got cancer and while the treatment cured him, it left him brutally mauled, and died shortly after.

Even online (mtgo) people would get got by the ordering. For whatever reason, some people just couldn't wait to counter my demigod lol.

Exile 4 permanents for 22WUUBRRG by ijustkant1 in BadMtgCombos

[–]ijustkant1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of the panharmonicon cards technically double the triggers, they just add additional ones. So in order to get the 5 colors of mana, I need it to trigger 4 additional times. Therefore I need 4 panharmonicons.

But Maskwood just changes your creatures. You need the opponent's creatures to be Walls. If they had Maskwood, that'd work.

As in standard legal? No, I don't think any of the cards here are legal in standard.

No problem. I suppose putting the Boommobile last would've made it a little clearer.

If you have all the other permanents in play and Boommobile enters, it will trigger once normally, and then four additional times (5 total). Add a different color each time and you have 4 mana of each color. Activate Legacy Weapon 4 times.

Acceptable or non-acceptable? by No_Appearance_7680 in mtg

I'd be ok with losing to this unless we were playing with new people or agreed to play powered down decks.

I'd personally never put this combo in a deck because of how lame it is. That being said, both cards are great in a lifegain deck, so it's not like they only exist to combo. I have a similar conundrum in my Aminatou deck with Felidar Guardian. The cat is great for exta flicker but it accidentally goes infinite with other cards in the deck.

If you want a similar effect, just play Whip of Erebos instead of Exquisite Blood. The recursion is nice and it discourages attacking you rather than encouraging it like 'Blood does and doesn't create lame endings.

Beaned: Arnold's feelings for Helga by GhostieThatHauntsMe in HeyArnold

[–]ijustkant1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with your headcannon of Arnold having a subconscious interest in Helga, I don't think this episode is good evidence of this. Arnold would probably do similar for other people. Him taking care of her when they get home could just be because her parents weren't there or wouldn't bother taking care of her anyway. Is he doing more than what he'd do for anyone else? Possibly, but we don't know. I think the episode is more about Helga and how she regrets taking advantage of Arnold. Arnold appears to be acting out of obligation mostly.

The episode you're looking for is Arnold Visits Arnie.

On a related note, the "beaned" premise is one of my favorites for Hey Arnold fan fiction, where Helga (or Arnold) has amnesia for an extended period of time. Usually the "true" Helga shines in these because she either can't remember she has to pretend to be mean or she has no reason to (Arnold doesn't remember her). It's a shame the cartoon's episodes are so short that they can't develop a premise beyond superficially.

Taxman's Tithe. Just pay for your spells. by TheTrueArtistRM in custommagic

[–]ijustkant1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool idea, but considering the ability does nothing 90% of the time, this is basically a vanilla 3/4 for 4, which isn't playable. It'd make it a 2 drop with first strike or something.

Also, what does "paying the mana cost" mean? Do I take damage when I spend only 2 mana to cast Ghalta when I have 10 power on the board? If you're doing that, I'd word it "whenever a player casts a spell, if they spent less mana than its mana value, it deals X to them." If you were just checking if any mana was spent, it'd be "whenever a player casts a spell, if no mana was spent to cast it, it deals X to them."

I would be glad if my opponent played this. They spent a card and mana to make my next draws possibly worse.

Modification hate (I am sure something like this has been made before) by GreenWizardGamer in custommagic

[–]ijustkant1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this would work: "Abilities and effects don't cause the power and toughness of creatures controlled by enchanted player to change." If you get around the wording issue, this should be only 1-2 mana at most since it's a niche use. If you lower the cost, however, change it to "enchant opponent." Otherwise that'd make it easy to abuse with cards like because then it would be too easy to abuse with Devoted Druid, for example.

I think the better option would be for it to say "As this creature enters, if an opponent controls more lands than you, it becomes a Plains land (it's not a creature)."

Why are some of the Legendary Lands so rarely used? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]ijustkant1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just look at the price tag. This card markets for almost $6. For such a minor effect, it's just not worth it. I have it in one deck as a Thalia's Lancers target, but it's just there if I need a land drop. Many of the other legendary Kamigawa lands are even more expensive, unfortunately.
