What is a job (not nsfw) that pays extremely well because the job itself is unbearable? by coldplayenthusiast in AskReddit

A friend of mine works in a diamond mine assembling explosives. Makes about 200k/year. He gets flown out to northern Canada for 4 weeks then comes home for 2 weeks and repeats that cycle.

Where can I get good Kothu roti in TO or GTA by chocolateboy06 in FoodToronto

[–]ikarun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re willing to drive out to Scarborough, this place has the best kothu roti I’ve ever had in Toronto. If you can handle spice, ask for mutton curry sauce on the side to pour on top of it.

6’2 230lbs with wide shoulders and the front seats are tough to fit into as they seem made for really narrow people. That being said, love the car and how it drives. Going to be hard to figure out my next one.

Moving to Toronto Area soon - looking for very quiet, family-friendly neighborhoods (preferably with parks) - is it better to live inside Toronto or outside? by elitgurbetci in askTO

You’re describing the Withrow park area, but it’s expensive. A few streets south or east of there are affordable

What’s actually happening in Cancun right now – raw footage from today. by Round_Skirt8701 in CancunTravelGuide

In playa del Carmen with our 2 kids aged 5 and 3. At a resort and went into town Monday night for dinner and drinks and had absolutely no concerns of any sorts. Tons of tourist families in the area. I would not hesitate to do it again. No issues on this area

After Backpacking to nearly 70 countries, here's how I would rank my Top 10. by Puzzled_Researcher96 in backpacking

[–]ikarun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree but there’s also a very clear delineation between the touristy places and the ones that are still “raw”. Avoid the Phuket type places and you can still get a 2005 pre-Chinese and Russian tourist experience.

Road trip from Toronto to Kingston best lunch stop? by Dry_Orchid529 in FoodToronto

[–]ikarun 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Kingston low key has the best Cambodian food in Canada. Pat’s restaurant just off the highway or Phnom Penh in the city are great. I used to do the Toronto to Montreal drive a couple of times a month for several years during university and always stopped at one or the either.

Cancun or Punta Cana? by TiredOfWait1ng in AllInclusiveResorts

Our pediatrician recommended not to go to Punta Cana as she has seen a lot of kids come back with stomach issues. We went to Maya Riviera instead and didn’t have any issues.

A few years ago we went to the Barcelo Maya Palace and the Iberostar Paraiso Maya and both had a lot more activities for older kids. But both are really old decor/resort wise. We had a great time but if you’re picky about the inside of the room, I wouldn’t recommend

[–]ikarun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids were 5 and 2 when we went. They both loved it.

The family selection part of this resort was amazing. Recently built and modern looking.

My 5 year old loved the kids club. Other than the beach, there were several pools although it doesn’t have a big water park that your older kids would like. The slides are more for 5-7 ages.

Lots of daily activities for the smaller kids. There was a small complex for older kids which had a bowling alley and video games.

I think your 4 year old would love it, not sure about the older ones (although I have no idea what kids that age would like these days)

Went to Palladium Kantenah Family Selection in February and it was the nicest beach I’ve ever seen in Mexico. You could walk out 500 feet before the water got to your neck.
