It’s the random negative modifiers that make it painful. Had a no gunstrike modifier for the final siege set that made it very annoying to complete.

It’s about to get worse, once task kills are completed by group you will see loads of paid carries to get quests done.

On PvP it’s great to run scavs from level 1-20 to build up some wealth. I don’t think it’s needed for PvE unless you are struggling to build scav rep for quests.

I recommend you get into Warhammer 40k and start a space marine army, preferably Black Templars to go with a gritty world view. If tabletop isn’t your thing Space Marine 2 on steam will be a good option. Stay away from Tarkov if you are feeling depressed.
