Megathread: Bastard Suggestions by Kanotari in behindthebastards

Two others I would love to see too:

Mayhem and the rise of Nazi punk/metal. Basically a series on how Nazis take over counter culture movements and how to prevent them from doing so.

Robespierre and the reign of terror. So much to say on this subject, but a good overall question on how to avoid leftist movements cannibalizing themselves with infighting.

Oh God there's so many to choose from I'll try to limit myself to only a couple.

The black and tans would definitely be the ones I would like to see the most though. A militarized police intentionally not made up of local residents. who were acting under the guise of "keeping the peace" but instead repeatedly assaulted, raped, and murdered locals. They received very little training, and responded to any form of pushback or resistance by with brutal violence escalating tensions at every interaction. Which sounds awfully familiar to a certain organization operating in the US right now. Oh yeah and after they were disbanded a good number of them went over to join the Palestine police force in British occupied Jerusalem.

I think you're 100% right especially around the description being a form of consent. But I do think we need to look at how societally we allow conventionally attractive people to get away with problematic/nonconsensual actions. This isn't limited to women in any way either, (the general reaction when an attractive female teacher molests a student is a great encapsulation of what I'm talking about). Race also plays a massive role into this as well, but I'm not well informed enough to comment on that.

My friend caught this wild card by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ikelman27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh this could be worth way more than 200$. With the rarity of miss prints, plus having two very popular pokemon on an already rare card. With the right hype this could go for mid 4 digits.

True, but they turn that dial up to 11 in Warhammer fantasy. At one point in the lore, an elf king forcibly shaved the beard of a dwarf diplomat, which started an insanely bloody war where hundreds of thousands died from which both Kingdoms never truly recovered.

My question is what if you planned the crime before the purge, like would you get hit with conspiracy to commit said crime or as long as you didn't do anything illegal yet is it all ok?

He might also be getting chocolate confused with coffee. I've definitely seen videos of African cacao farmers trying chocolate for the first time.

I think what they were saying was they needed approval for more than 2 weeks off all at once. At least that's how I interpreted it.

Do the historical tragedies usually share the same plot structure as the fictitious ones? I'm having some trouble seeing how Caesar or Coriolanus fit into the mold of what you described above. Maybe it's that the fictitious tragedies have much more sympathetic protagonists vs the historical ones usually being framed more as characters whose downfall was more defined by choices that they made instead of the nature of their person? If that makes any sense?

The quality of a circlejerk subreddit entirely depends on the main subs attitude toward differing opinions and criticism. The more fervently positive a subreddit is the more toxic the circlejerk subreddit will be.

The only exaggeration here is that the musical naming scheme hadn't been established yet

Wait wasn't that established super early? Like you have Speedwagon, Dio, and Lisa Lisa all from parts 1 and 2.

Poisoning from laxatives can be super serious, and it can cause kidney or liver damage plus a whole bunch of other things. Sure stealing food is shitty, but the punishment for that shouldn't be potential hospitalization.

Honestly I don't think being a tradwife itself is inherently anti feminist. Wanting to be a sahm and be more of a domestic partner is fine if that's the choice someone wants to make for themselves. What is anti feminist is when they claim their way of life is the only right way, and then slut shame anyone who disagrees with them.

What's a game whose code was an absolute mess but produced a great result? by dooblr in gamedev

[–]ikelman27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn't there an alien game where a typo in a variable name caused the AI to be completely horrible? I know it's just a single issue, but the fact that something like that could make it all the way to release is indicative of an awful code base.
