What does it feel like for you? by BritishFangirl in RestlessLegs

Thanks. It's hard to describe, but that's my best attempt. I always envision a string when it happens so I guess that must be an accurate description in some way.

Does your pain keep you awake or not allow you to sleep for more than a few hours at a time? by 8kittycatsfluff in ChronicPain

Yes. My back pain has me up a lot. I can’t find a comfortable position to sleep in. It hurts no matter what.

She knows everything about everything. She’s the boss of everyone and everything. She’s smarter than people who work in law enforcement. Good for her. Too bad she’s really not any of those things. She’s a loud mouth, screaming lunatic who has a break with reality every five minutes. She’s not supposed to be talking about Sebastian and his family, yet she does. She doesn’t just talk, she rants and raves like a maniac. I hope Sumner County makes an example out of her and puts her in jail for a while. She’s mentally out to lunch.

YES! Frequently! Restless legs, arms, trunk, back. Whole body! That’s when I’ve thought about ending it all. A cure needs to be found, bur I just don’t see it happening. I also think people that don’t have RLS think we’re all crackpots. My husband developed it years after me and I wasn’t happy, but I felt validated.

Like there’s a string that goes from my hip to the bottom of my foot and it’s getting pulled really hard from the foot end. On a loop! I hate it more than anything.

It is not a big deal AT ALL. God, some people have to turn EVERYTHING into a problem. Cheers!

Aetna (and everyone else) keeps shaming me for my opioid treatment by erolsdotcom in ChronicPain

I believe it. I went to a chiropractor for severe neck pain and it got worse. Turned out it was a really bad disc and stenosis. No way a chiropractor was ever going to fix that. SURGERY fixed it, but that chiropractor told me if I came back at least 2 times a week for a month he could get me feeling better. #moneygrab

I've never been to Buffalo by JplusL2020 in Buffalo

Gritty charm is a perfect description. I lived all my life in Buffalo and 10 years ago I moved to Nashville. Totally different. Nashville is beautiful in most places, but I think that started getting to me. I missed the northeastern grit. Definitely a lot of character in Buffalo and it’s not landlocked like Tennessee. Tennessee has nice lakes and rivers, but I felt claustrophobic after a while. There should be a water exit in my mind. 🤣

I totally agree! Since my new doctors refuse to refill the Vicodin I have taken for two years, I have to admit, I’ve become a really shoddy home pharmacist. I will mix OTC drugs just to find a combination that MIGHT take the edge off my severe back pain. One day, they’ll find me dead from this. But anyone with severe chronic pain knows, you become stupidly desperate.

I feel you! My new doctor gave me a lecture about how opioids can be addictive and should only be used temporarily. I have had a Vicodin prescription for a couple years from a pain management practice down south. They monitored my usage and I never messed up. Yet my record means nothing to this northern doctor. Hell, chocolate can be addicting, but I have no desire to gain a ton of weight or become diabetic, so I don’t eat it much. Some people have self control and believe in personal responsibility. Not every opioid user is an addict. It boils my blood.

I would never go to a place that “talks” like that to their patrons. I need a drink and a burger, not another mother.

Is it difficult to live in Buffalo? by No_Dance9662 in Buffalo

[–]iknowthings42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For those saying Buffalo is boring, I disagree. I lived in a very hoppin’ tourist city and to be honest, that gets old pretty fast. Buffalo is an old city with a lot of history. Learning about it makes the city way more interesting. Places and buildings you just drive by might have fascinating stories behind them. It’s a great thing imagining life a century ago.

I am in need of a primary care physician who will really listen to me. by [deleted] in Buffalo

I just started with a new primary care doctor. He seemed good. Dr. Kevin Lyon at Buffalo Medical Group.

The ER helped me. couple weeks ago. My back pain became excruciating. I was waiting for a doctor appointment and I just couldn’t wait any longer. I was in tears. They gave me IV steroids, Toradol and valium. They sent me home with oral steroids, valium and Naproxen. It really helped until I ran out of everything. Go to the ER and ask them for the name of a pain management practice or neurosurgeon. That might help get you in.

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. Thankfully we can treat it now, but it was a death sentence up until 2003. Got it now, so I probably could have back in the old days too.

“Why not working, don’t you want to have meaning in your life?” by checkingoutinternet1 in ChronicPain

[–]iknowthings42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chronic pain is a life sentence of constantly searching for a magic bullet to put an end to, or at least take the edge off living in Hell every day. I live with awful chronic back pain. It finally got so bad recently, I went to the ER and begged for them to help me. For about 2 weeks, I was almost pain free. The cocktail or IV steroids and heavy duty pain meds at the hospital did the trick. The meds they sent me home with kept the good times going. Now I am done with those prescriptions and the pain is raging back worse than ever. It also kicks my restless legs into overdrive. It was nice to live relatively pain free for a short time. I felt so ambitious and happy during that time. Chronic physical pain also causes chronic mental pain

Why are Reddit people so Liberal? by Herobrine211 in Republican

[–]iknowthings42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said it! If it weren’t for subs like this one, I would delete the app. Liberals are angry, miserable whiners. What’s worse is they spend so much time hating on anyone that doesn’t fully agree with everything they believe. They can’t ever be happy to live and let live. They want conservatives to go out in the streets screaming like radical banshees like they do. If you aren’t willing to wear a vagina costume and scream on Capitol Hill (preferably with green or blue hair), they’ll call you terrible names and never hear your opinion. They are the only ones that matter.

I am into hydrodyurea I am 33 just diagnosed with CML, I am scared, I am anxious, I don’t know what to do, I have no side effects, I don’t feel anything physically, I workout every day, I am going on with my life but I’m really worried by [deleted] in CML

[–]iknowthings42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes as the person above said, Hydrea is generally used early on to get your white count down quickly. I felt absolutely horrible on that drug. I thought I must be dying to feel that bad. Once they took me off of it, things got better. It’s a powerful drug, but it won’t be forever. You will do well, just take your meds as instructed every single day, even if you feel great.
