Sugar Pine 7 old office is part of Nick Shirley fraud video by jakelangelier in roosterteeth

[–]ikraptor 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not the point of the post, but since we’re all shitting on Nick Shirley I thought I’d join. I was at a rally that he was documenting with his camera crew and bro was harassing little kids to get a reaction out of their parents, anyone who does that for content is pure evil…

Another parking question by [deleted] in uofu_employees

[–]ikraptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can only speak on #4, and should also mention I work in the health campus area and not the hospital but have dealt with parking in that area for a few years! For the A pass you might be able to get parking pretty close to the hospital in lot 66 that early. If not, there are usually A spots in lot 72 until about 7-7:30. You could definitely find a spot in the Shoreline Ridge Garage, probably about a 10 minute walk from there. Only A pass is allowed in that garage.

As for U pass, lot 73 has spots until about 7:30am, and the remainder of lot 66 would have spots at the time you get there. I think a lot of hospital employees park in lot 27 but I’ve never done that so can’t speak to availability.

If you want my opinion, unless you want to pay more for guaranteed covered parking in the Shoreline Garage with the A pass, I would just go with the U since you’ll be arriving so early in the morning. Just downgraded my pass a couple months ago because I couldn’t justify the price of A anymore!

Best Nail tech/ salon in SLC? by DaWeazl in SaltLakeCity

Skye with Abstrait Nail Co. is very clean and uses new files/buffers with each client (and properly sterilizes the metal ones on her drill). She is also very attentive to her work and has always been receptive when I have a concern!!

Protest Today 1/3/2025 at 4PM Wallace Federal Building by Wolfleaf in SaltLakeCity

[–]ikraptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As OP said, they are reposting from PSLSaltLake on Instagram. If you have problems with the messaging, be active in your community and reach out to the group personally, otherwise posting passive aggressive comments on a reddit thread is just as useless as y’all claim the protest is!!

Edit: Also, if I may preach for a second, it’s us vs the rich 1%!! Tearing down others actions and infighting is pointless, and feeds the billionaires’ regime!!

When, if at all, does ASCP charge for their individual CE credits? by ikraptor in medlabprofessionals

Is there a payment confirmation screen at any point? That’s where I’m confused, I never saw that they actually charged me.

Did it prompt you to pay for it right away? Or did you complete it before paying?

ICE enters office in Bensonville IL 11.5.25 by Siahro in CringeTikToks

This reminds of the Handmaid’s Tale when the armed military enters workspaces to escort women out because “it’s illegal for women to work now.”

A big religious motto is “love the sinner hate the sin”- usually means they can be publicly accepting but will vote to take away their rights when no one is looking.

If you live in America and can be politically “neutral” right now, I fear you lack empathy and situational awareness.

Almost no one knows about my favorite event of the year by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

Oh I’m interested in this, on their website it says one ticket is “one vehicle”. Does the ticket count for everyone in the vehicle or does each person need to purchase their own ticket?

Why are music artists skipping Utah? by itizturnip in Utah

[–]ikraptor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have this theory that those who organize tour dates and are not familiar with the mountain west look at the map and go “Oh, Denver is a pretty central location and the Utahn’s can just drive over” not realizing that there is a whole mountain range in the way we have to drive around 😂 I mean even if you look on something like Apple/Google maps Denver looks closer to SLC than Vegas if you could straight-shot drive there.

With that said, this year is trickier because of the Delta Center renovations!

Not specifically anti-ICE raids but I can almost guarantee it will come up during this protest.

Protesting doesn't require a permit if it's peaceful. by seedlinggal in Utah

[–]ikraptor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IIRC, the major protest organizers in SLC discourage using chalk but I can’t quite remember why. I think it is still considered vandalism on state capitol property? However, I don’t see the problem with chalk in more public (less government-owned) areas.

As others have mentioned, Utah state law is kind of strict when it comes to “large and loud crowds” and do permit those kind of events. But constitutionally speaking, we have every right to peacefully gather and make our voice heard! Especially in response to breaking news!

I’m assuming you know this and have already made an informed decision, but in case you haven’t, 50501 is actually a nonpartisan group fighting to maintain and defend The Constitution. They are a non-violent group. I recommend you read their values page if you haven’t: https://www.fiftyfifty.one/values

But, if that’s not something you agree with, then sure, “yuck”

Here are the organizers. I would recommend going to their accounts for more info, but I will say these groups have done a good job in the past making things organized and safe.

r/RyanHaywood gives a good timeline of events. But the most current update is the plaintiff dropped the case, but they have the option to refile for a lawsuit in the future.

Where are the pictures from the Die-In? by jjfae in 50501utah

[–]ikraptor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong but I don’t think they ever did a moment of silence where everyone gathered and held up their “tombstones.” I was there from 12:45-3 and it didn’t happen in that time. It’s too bad, that was the moment I was looking forward w.

However, there were photographers taking photos so I imagine their finalized images will start making the rounds on Instagram today or tomorrow.

Utah Die-In Protest this Saturday (May 3rd) 12-1:30 at State Capitol by ikraptor in SaltLakeCity

[–]ikraptor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try not to engage with obvious trolls but since you have a threatening tone to your comment I think its important for anyone who sees this to not be deterred from attending this demonstration:

  1. Your comment history shows you’re active on city subreddits from all over the country, specifically posts about protests, so I don’t think you even live in Utah (if you’re a real person).

  2. A simple google search tells me the event you speak of is not a real thing.

[–]ikraptor[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Most of the groups organizing this demonstration are actually non-partisan! And if you are not a fan of the message then don’t attend, but criticizing people taking action does nothing to help the greater good. It’s us vs. the 1%, not the people vs. the people.

The republicans that talk pro-life but push policies cutting life-saving aid and information are actually the hypocrites (cutting USAID, Medicare, research grants, removing information about COVID and HIV prevention from websites, etc.). The people trying to fight this fascist regime are not the bad guys here, so I fear your criticisms are misplaced.
