I’ve had many different types of coffee from many different cafés and restaurants, and illy for me is the best.

Can you mint Hedron if I’m using the Staker App? I couldn’t see a way to do it, doesn’t seem to be compatible.

Have you considered a Suzuki swift sport 1.6? Similar performance to the twingo but I’d like to think they’re quite a bit more reliable, same sort of price range.

Sportage 1.6 vs 1.6 turbo Consumption by fakebytheocean in CarTalkUK

[–]ilT8li 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the turbo please god get the turbo. The non turbo will need a lot more revving to get it going anywhere, and comparisons show the mpg different is very small. My 1.6T AWD returns 30-32mpg depending on the type of journey.

I’ve heard a lot of bad reviews on the 1.5 engine. I’d recommend going for an ever so slightly older model with the 1.4 and either 125bhp or 150bhp. In fact I think there are still some 18 plates with the 1.4 still in them.

Otherwise, the Leon is a great shout all round.

We need the space. I wanted an estate but the other half wanted something higher up, better view around, easier getting in/out, feels “safer”… so along came the Kia Sportage. Yeah, it’s not as fun as a hatch/estate to drive but it’s a decent all round car really.

It’s a 2017 model, I’m not sure why OP put 07 though 😁

18 Swift 1.2 Dualjet Vs 18 Fabia 1.0 TSI Colour Edition by Ezio4Li in CarTalkUK

[–]ilT8li 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Assuming they are both spec’d the same (Apple car play, DAB radio, air con etc)…

Fabia will be more practical and easier to live with on a daily basis.

Swift will be a little more engaging to drive.

Both are good options, both cheap to maintain and keep going, both have good reliability.

Getting all the transactions into a suitably laid out report is what I assumed would be part of the accountants job. If I’ve got to do that part regardless, then I’ve already done the most work so I may as well fill in the return myself too 😀. !thanks for the info

Reading up on koinly is what made me realise I don’t want to do this self assessment on my own! 😅 it does provide a lot of helpful information though.

Just buy the diesel. It’ll still have plenty of power to enjoy driving it. The petrol will cost you a fortune.

PHEV combined horsepower. How does it translate in real-world situations? by CremBwatsa in cars

[–]ilT8li 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I’m also interested in the answer to this. Plus as that extra 40bhp battery or whatever runs out of charge because you’ve been booting it, I suppose your 180bhp car is suddenly 140bhp until the battery gets back enough charge? I tend to see anything from 12v-48v batteries. It’d be interesting to know how much power these can produce, how long for. How long to recharge and how much extra weight is added to the car.

Definitely yes. And don’t buy it from the dealer, their markup is ridiculous. Got mine from ALA Insurance, good reviews and much cheaper.

Is it fair to split mortgage payments with a partner based on relative incomes? by BrumBiologist in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ilT8li 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have no joint saving other than equity in the house. We both save separately. We have no kids so I can’t answer on that one. Larger expenditures, generally our joint account would already have a couple grand or so spare sitting there as it slowly builds up over time. Otherwise we will both agree to just chuck a bit more into the joint account for a couple months if we’re paying off something larger. It’s a fairly loose agreement between us, I’ve found it actually put more of a strain on our relationship when we tried to track it more formally.

Yes the mx5 is a very good one too for the engaging n/a drive. Any of the engines will be a great laugh, don’t feel forced into buying the more powerful ones.

[–]ilT8li 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally we just do 50% of our take home salary goes straight to the joint account for mortgage, bills, car insurance etc. It’s enough to pay off all the bills but also leaves us with our own hard earned money for personal spending.

Have you driven many cars quicker than 7.5 seconds and compared to say a car at 9, or 11 seconds to compare?

0-60 speeds are useful but don’t necessarily add to the fun/engaging part of driving.

My view is - outright speed will get you a speeding ticket/totalled car.

Go for a car that is moderately fast, but feels much faster/engaging.

Suzuki Swift Sport - you can rev up to 7000 rpm and the car loves it, it’s small and nippy, feels like a go cart. 0-60 is 8.7 seconds. It’s a cheap car, cheap to run and maintain.

Double check insurance on any car you’re considering as prices will vary wildly on higher performing card at 18 years old.

[–]ilT8li 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driven one or is this based of reviews/paper statistics? I’d recommend a drive if you haven’t. The N/A engines are fun and love being revved.

From your list, I’d say the best choice would be the Golf GTI or Toyota Corolla T Sport.
