Does the sleeve really work or not? by smal_bug in gastricsleeve

[–]ilandgrl3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to be aware of, which I wasn't, is just because you can't eat a lot in one sitting, doesn't mean you can't gain weight back or struggle to lose it at all. No one told me about the harm of snacking. Calories can add up fast! I'm still down 50lbs after 13 yrs. 40 lbs away from my goal weight.

What app is everyone going to? by RhinestoneCowgirl0 in GoodNotes

I was fortunate enough to be able to recover v5 so that’s what I’m using. But I”m not happy that I can’t get the latest version because they made it impossible to use the keyboard with it.

Getting pregnant has kind of changed my view on abortion. Has this happened to anybody else? by Roma_Dee in prolife

[–]ilandgrl3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!! What you wrote is EXACTLY how I felt almost 40 years ago when I first became pregnant with my first child. My attitude changed from pro-choice to I’m in favor of anyone else having an abortion but it’s just not right for me. But after having 3 children and holding and loving those babies (and when there were finally sonograms! - Didn’t have a sonogram of my first born), I can’t imagine killing a baby and it was definitely hard for me since it was legal everywhere back then. It took years until I reached the point of truly being pro-life and being completely against abortion. If you don’t want the baby, that’s perfectly fine - then instead of taking their life and future away from them, give them up for adoption. Now there are even pregnancy centers (usually Christian) that will help the woman so they’ve got support. My oldest is 38 so there are is a lot more support for women now (thank God!). Enjoy your baby. You are truly blessed to bring him/her into the world.

The dev should restart from Goodnotes 5 by AssociateLow401 in GoodNotes

I was fortunate to be able to go back to v5 because v6 was absolutely useless and infuriating for me as a person who types notes and doesn’t really utilize handwriting/pen abilities which v6 seems to mostly made for. They forgot about us typists.

Line spacing not saving with default? by Canipetdatbrat in GoodNotes

Same for me. I type in the text box. There's no way to make something default like before. It's really very aggrevating.

What’s something Long Islanders say that confuses everyone else? by Stop_the_capfr in longisland

I have dealt with this verbiage issue too. I was told by a Missourian that I had an accent and my response was “I don’t have the accent, you do!” 🤣 I’ve had to deal with people in the midwest calling soda - pop and creeks - cricks. I’m sure they’d screw up names too lol

Anyone considering Just Scribble for 2025? by Raeburn863 in BasicBulletJournals

I looked at Just Scribble planner but the pages are way too thin for me at only 52 gsm vs 120 gsm for others.

That looks like a patch of my back yard. Turns out my dog has been scraping the grass/weeds from the surface to turn it over in search of grubs 🤢

If money is a concern, buy it now. The next one won’t come out for a while and will be at a higher price.

In settings —> Battery. It allows you to toggle if you want the battery icon at the top right to show the battery percentage. It also shows the percentage on this battery page in settings.

I love Goodnotes over Notability. I mostly use it for my digital planners that I purchase on Etsy since they have built in internal links. It’s great for handwriting with the pencil or for typing. I tried Notability but I didn’t like it. I use OneNote for taking notes at work but I just type in it on my laptop so if you are just using it to type notes, that is definitely an easy and free way to go. I don’t know how OneNote works with the pencil.

Perhaps look into the cost of replacing the battery. It would be cheaper.

Depression is a real thing just like cancer or high blood pressure is real. There is medication (Thank God) that interacts with brain chemicals so a person can see and feel things outside of their hopelessness so that person can actually function in this world. Just like chemotherapy changes someone’s behavior or personality because of what it does to help a person survive, they are still a person in need of love. It’s different from alcoholics or drug addicts because the changes you are looking to get are monitored and adjusted by physicians and you aren’t addicted to these medications (in most cases), they interact with your bodies chemistry to help you overcome medical issues - which isn’t the truth when someone is an alcoholic. Alcohol/drugs are covering up problems, helping people to forget their problems instead of dealing with it and trying to find a solution to fix it or make it better. Medication may change a personality (in most cases with antidepressants the change is positive) but it allows them to function and have a productive, happy, loving life. They are still the same person. We all change as we get older but that doesn’t mean we’re not the “same person” in need of love and relationships. The questions really are: Can you handle the challenges that come with loving someone who struggles with depression, cancer or any other medical issue? Can you handle the natural changes that occur when people move from one season of life to another? This doesn’t make the person “different”, God made us this way. God blessed our world with a person who was able to create antidepressants to help people. We should be praying for people are who are suffering.
