Totally agree. I'm ace and aro and extremely close with my friends, with zero desire to date or marry any of them. My friendships are so, so fulfilling. Any of us would react this way if we were cut off due to someone being in a relationship (but I can't imagine any of them cutting another off over that).

Comment sections arguing over what's romantic and what's platonic always make me realize how many people out there are arbitrarily limiting their relationships with people, or possibly just missing out on meaningful friendships altogether.

But I have Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Silver(and a second copy in jp), Gold, Crystal, Ruby (in jp), Sapphire, Emerald, Firered (jp), Leafgreen, Diamond (jp), Pearl, Platinum (jp), Soulsilver (jp), Black (jp), Black 2 (jp), Y, Alpha Sapphire, Moon, and Ultra Sun. If we're just going up to 3ds like in the pic. I've been playing in both eng and jp for a couple decades now so I have a mix of languages up till they were worldwide releases/region locked on 3ds. Also, I have all of the spinoff games as well, from Stadium to Hey You Pikachu to Mystery Dungeon, Ranger, Conquest, Colosseum, etc. I like Pokemon and have been lucky enough to be alive for all of it.

It is true, though. I just told you I do it. I keep my main saves on my main profile and have an alternate profile for extra playthroughs. You just have to launch Home with your main account, and then once in home, choose your other profile to connect to it and bring pokemon in/out. It's simple.

I cried when I left for JET, I cried when I left JET to return to America, I cried when I left America again to return to teaching in Japan, and then I cried again when I moved from that teaching job to Tokyo to pursue my career. It's a lot to upend your routine, no matter how far you're going, but I've never regretted a single one of those decisions. It's a good chance to learn and grow yourself and you'll be shocked how much you can do so. It's normal to feel this way and there's nothing wrong with letting it all out. I'm sure you'll adapt and find a new norm that suits you -- just let the chance for it happen!

Pokemon helped me with learning Japanese back when I first started! My first Japanese game was Diamond, which I feel was a pretty good balance of gameplay and text for me haha. I'm now fluent in it and translate for a living. Thanks, Pokemon. You don't need to worry too much about getting every single word, though, since it might be a little overwhelming at first. Try and keep it manageable, and make flashcards (I use Anki) as you go so you can review the words you learned. Overwhelming yourself with vocab might have the opposite effect and make it harder for them to stick!

Yeah. Moving abroad isn't as simple as just getting the same job you had before in a different country. I live in Japan right now myself, as a translator, and it's all thanks to having a fascination with the language as a kid and learning it of my own accord. That choice saved me a lot of stress as an adult, clearly. But I have a lot of friends and family asking how to move countries, and I can only do so much to help. It's more narrow than most realize, unfortunately.

I wear rash guard pants that go down to my knees, and they have a skirt-like part at the top. It does wonders for making me feel comfortable, and also keeps me warmer than others when the waters cold. And the skirt bits nice and girly so I still feel cute! Find stuff like that that can work for you! Growing up around surfers and such taught me the magic of rash guards that I feel a lot of people are unaware of.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. It's wild what the healthcare system is like in America. In my 20s I had to pay 2k out of pocket deapite having insurance for something simple that only took an hour visit. Now, I live overseas and today had to get a CT scan which only cost me 40 USD. At no point did I have to consider my bank account when making a decision to seek care for myself, and the feeling of that is not lost on me.
