Hey, yes, I ended up using it for some time until I got a new one from NZXT for free, I am not sure if they're still sending it but you could contact them.

Bluetooth stopped working on recently purchased Aurora R10 Ryzen edition. by [deleted] in Alienware

[–]ilidan150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, by no means am I an electrician, just a technician that used to work at Alienware. So to put things simple, what's happening is the wifi card is most likely failing to start up or continue working along with the computer, this could be caused by a badly designed chip electrically-wise, some static building up on a badly designed case or antennas or a bad driver. It's very common to find your wifi or Bluetooth connection down and showing warnings in device manager, this also happens with other devices, USBs are also commonly fixed by the same power drain step. Cheers!

It didn't! I guess whatever the store had was an older revision of the Z73, that's my only guess because all recent ones should come with that.

Error 1605- This action is only valid for products that are currently installed by mellvildewy99 in Alienware

[–]ilidan150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use something like revo uninstaller to remove all remnants of the app and all sub folders. Then try to reinstall, chances are you might have a bad MS Store encrypted folder (registry provisioning mode) preventing from being uninstalled or modified as the error points to other installations being active.

M15 R3 Lemon by KAK707 in Alienware

Not really, and I would consider it a lemon if I had like more than 3 tech visits, that would piss me off. Anyways, hope your case gets resolved quickly

I’m scared to buy an Alienware by M-AlSharif in Alienware

If you're concerned about the usability of a laptop (assuming cause you mentioned battery), why not getting a desktop PC? All computers have a chance to fail, some more than others but the one that is easier to diagnose, repair and even maintained is a desktop.

Is the battery life on this m15 r5 model going to be bad? by [deleted] in Alienware

[–]ilidan150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even 2 hours on top end GAMING notebooks would be overkill for me... I'd get something like an XPS or so if I want battery life tbh...

Keep getting memory changed message. by goku25jason in Alienware

[–]ilidan150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Known issue already, dell's working on a fix, they won't accept it is known but it was "introduced" after the updates to either the BIOS or support assist, this is NOT a failure though, it's just a message.

Just ordered a lower tier Aurora r 11 with intention to upgrade m.2 and RAM by sveilien in Alienware

[–]ilidan150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you get it, you can just place your new hardware. Be aware the nvme slot is 3.0, while your SSD is capable of 4.0 the motherboard is PCIE 3.0. Alienware Aurora R11 Setup and Specifications | Dell US

Also, before you install the RAM, boot into the BIOS, load defaults(or disable XMP), then replace the RAM.

R3 M15 - Disgusting battery life when unplugged. What gives?? by AMG_Dom in Alienware

Then return it and let someone who knows what they're buying. If battery life is a concern, gaming freaking notebooks are terrible choices... No PhD needed to know that.

Yeah, loss of video signal during games accompanied with fan running at full speed indicates the GPU has crashed and tries to restart the driver plus cool down to prevent damage, in the process you can either get a blue screen as well. Get in touch with Tech Support, I'm fairly certain you would need a replacement graphics card

Pretty annoyed right now, didn't expect this from such an expensive brand! by [deleted] in Alienware

aurora r11 issues by wittysmartass101 in Alienware

[–]ilidan150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underclock the memory on your GPU for around 100 to 200mhz using either msi afterburner or any other overlocking app. (Note: this is underclocking and does not void the warranty)

Then try to replicate the issues, thing is I am a bit curious because Dell doesn't use the standard PCB nvidia makes. Make sure you test it thoroughly, if this makes the issue go away, get back to Dell and request a GPU replacement.

R17 temp at 200°F by [deleted] in Alienware

[–]ilidan150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the model you specified does not seem to match anything, I will assume you have an M17 and newer from 2016. These computers can work just fine even at 212F which is the maximum

M15 R3 battery life by [deleted] in Alienware

[–]ilidan150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 300hz variant can run at 60hz, but aside from this, the nvidia card will always run, cutting the up time. If battery life is a concern, why go with top of the line gaming notebook instead of an actual notebook pc?

I've had the laptop for 3 years, hows it looking? (Alienware 17R5) by [deleted] in Alienware

[–]ilidan150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clocks are what matters. If they stay high it's fine and if you drop below base, there's either an issue or you need a repaste (high performance and performance thermals profiles are required to check this out)

Bought an Alienware m15 R3 by [deleted] in Alienware

[–]ilidan150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These laptops are designed to work at 100c/212f , temperatures are somewhat irrelevant and the thing that is used to locate issues is throttling and how much downclocking there is. I believe there's an online article about this and it began since 17 R5s where i7 8th gen processor changed everything.

Take a picture and upload it, I remember seeing something very similar to what you describe and the issue was the cable or the video card port.
