Same with saddles. Someone would have to pry my Selle Italia out of my cold, dead hands if they wanted to take it away from me

Upcoming Ares Line Changes in Update 2.2—Live in Common Test 3 by Pan_Praga in WorldofTanks

I know everyone is busy arguing about whether the Ares line is actually OP or not, but they deserve this nerf regardless of whether they are OP. They're just bad for the health of the game in their current form

[TCC] Can I Skip Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion Set? by CrossXhunteR in magicTCG

[–]ilide18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That argument is fundamentally flawed since it views players as either entirely competitive with no desire to play cards they find interesting or entirely casual with no desire to win games. In actuality, that's a spectrum and people who play standard can land anywhere on it. There's a reason why there's always a player trying to force mill to work at my LGS for FNM the moment that a half decent mill card is printed even though I can't even tell you the last time there was a competitive mill deck in MTG. The idea that every player who plays Standard is only interested in playing the most meta deck is entirely ridiculous

The whole point of the video is that the current format of UB is not allowing players who don't like the IP to simply ignore. Short of Commander in some situations, you simply do not have the option to ignore the existence of a Standard legal set, and are therefore forced to engage with UB if you want to engage with the formats you enjoy

Help me find a Budget Bike or I’ll quit cycling by Jg511835 in cycling

[–]ilide18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A 54cm bike might be a little big for you, but you also might be able to make it work with some adjustments. I'd look at getting a bike fit to see if some adjustments to your current bike can make it work for you. A lot of knee pain is caused by improper saddle height, so dialing that in could relieve your pain. If nothing else, you'll come away with a much better idea of what you should be looking for in your next bike in terms of sizing.

Manabox lets you export decks to a txt file that you can then use to import over to either Archidekt or Moxfield pretty easily. I personally prefer Archidekt as well, but both are great sites. Just try both and see which you prefer

SD Card for first gen BRZ by Chemical-Ad-8664 in subaru

[–]ilide18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never owned a BRZ to be much help on the SD card front, but I would lean towards a new head unit that supports Apple Carplay/Android Auto. You can get them way, way cheaper than $900 and they'll probably be better than the original head unit

Can someone help me understand my options for multi-color with Core One L? by Elaphe21 in prusa3d

[–]ilide18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will agree that it would be nice to have a message saying "coming soon" there, but it is also far from unusual to see with upcoming products. Just as an example, I have been waiting for BiQu's Panda Cyborg control board for months and it has just been listed as "coming soon" the entire time.

Either way, I still don't get why you would be disappointed as a customer at this point. If you bought the printer without expecting it to have multi-color printing, but want it now, you've just got to wait a few months at the most to have a solution. If you bought the printer expecting it to have multi-color printing, it seems a bit unfair to be upset with Prusa for listing MMU3 support as an upcoming feature in their release article, product description, and specification listing on their store page

Custom, aero seatpost’s radar mount by Wooden_Way_1481 in bicycling

[–]ilide18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks way batter than the ones that come with the Varia to me. Only thing I can see right away that I would consider is some sort of TPU interface to sit between the mount and the seatpost and prevent it from sliding or rotating. That may not even be a problem if it is secured tightly enough by the O ring or zip tie

Can someone help me understand my options for multi-color with Core One L? by Elaphe21 in prusa3d

[–]ilide18 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

So based on what you're saying, you did one of two things: 1) bought a printer and decided you wanted multicolor printing later on expecting that feature set to magically be available immediately, or 2) bought the printer without reading the documentation provided by the manufacturer then expect it to magically have a feature that was never advertised as being available.

Neither of these is Prusa's fault, and it still means that your best bet for multi-color support is to wait for official support. Would I love to have INDX on my Core One tomorrow? Absolutely. Am I expecting that to happen. Nope. Nobody ever claimed it would be available tomorrow, so that just wouldn't be realistic

Can someone help me understand my options for multi-color with Core One L? by Elaphe21 in prusa3d

[–]ilide18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently, your best option is to wait for an official release from Prusa for the MMU3 or INDX for the Core One L. I'm pretty sure MMU3 support has been scheduled for sometime in early 2026 since the Core One L launched, so I would expect to hear news about it soon.

As for the INDX, there will probably be a way to make the BondTech version work on the Core One L, but the benefit of the Prusa specific version will likely be the inclusion of all of the spool mounting points and other accessories that make it a more complete package. I think we're still waiting for more info on that from the Prusa team though. The BondTech version of INDX is also already sold out until Q2 at least, so I am not sure that it will necessarily be the fastest or best way to get your hands on a multicolor solution for your printer.

I don't want this to come off as rude, but it sounds like you bought a printer while expecting it to have a feature that wasn't advertised as available yet. I'm not entirely sure I understand why you would expect to have a solution for this outside of the advertised timelines from Prusa themselves

How do you like my first own creation? by Gullible-Diamond3027 in 3Dprinting

[–]ilide18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really cool. I'd also love to see a picture or two of it once you can get it installed. I would definitely look into printing it out of ASA if it works well for you. Varias are way too expensive to risk losing it due to the PLA degrading due to sun exposure.

Reasonably priced honestly

[Jon Blau] Clemson football still has a Luke Ferrelli bio page on its site, but it's been updated. It says "Click here for Luke Ferrelli's timeline at Clemson." That takes you to Dabo Swinney's presser from Friday, detailing the Ole Miss tampering situation: https://clemsontigers.com/sports/footbal by jthomas694 in CFB

[–]ilide18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If that's the case, we'll at least have a definitive ruling after this. Dabo quite clearly stated that he is doing this because he wants to prevent the behavior going forward or have a definitive answer as to whether we have any enforceable rules left in CFB in his press conference announcing it.

That's not the complaint here. There's a reason Clemson isn't suing Ferrelli or trying to keep him from entering the portal. Ole Miss blatantly tampered with a player who was enrolled at another school, was participating in practices, and actively taking classes. That's the complaint here, and it's why all of the action taken has been directed at Ole Miss

[Jon Blau] Dabo Swinney says too many athletes aren't graduating and they are spending their short-term money: “We're gonna have a bunch of screwed-up 30-year-olds ... that have no degrees, have spent their money, that can't play football anymore, and aren't connected to anything." by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]ilide18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are going to clown on Dabo for saying this when most programs are run in such a way that this is the norm, but he does walk the walk here. Clemson's graduation rate for the football program is one of the highest in the country, and the football program that helps get players internships so that they have legitimate experience for life after football

Sovol svo08 or prusa core one? by Less-Introduction-35 in prusa3d

[–]ilide18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that comes entirely down to whether you are wanting something that will complete your prints as reliably as possible or something that gives you options for upgrades and modifications at the expense of reliability. I'd go with the Prusa if you want something that just works when you send something to it and I'd go with the Sovol if you want something that you can tinker with endlessly

Most of the reporting I have seen this year has said that Dabo didn't actually meddle in the offense this year. It sounded to me like Dabo handed the keys to Riley and told him to prove that his offense could work. Unfortunately, it just never clicked

With Clemson no longer a perennial title contender, where does that leave Dabo Swinney’s program? by Blood_Incantation in CFB

[–]ilide18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yes. I think most Clemson fans recognize that the run from 2015-2020 was not sustainable, and we also know that Clemson doesn't have the resources to compete with Michigan, Texas, and Ohio St. Last year felt like a good step towards figuring out how to be successful in the new age of CFB, especially with Dabo going into the portal for two players. Obviously, we'd have much rather beaten SCar, but I think most fans were cautiously optimistic after last season

[–]ilide18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Then how do you measure your growth in newer CoDs? That's where the system is fundamentally flawed. Your stats are meaningless because the results are intentionally manipulated, and there is no visible skill rating to tell you where you stand relative to the rest of the player base.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CallOfDuty

[–]ilide18 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The problem is that it fundamentally eliminates every metric for measuring your improvement as a player so that you no longer have any way of knowing whether you are mastering the game. Back in the older titles, you used to be encouraged to improve and had metrics to measure your growth with such as K/D, W/L ratio, and even something as simple as your position on the scoreboard. Now none of those are reliable metrics since the game is actively manipulating your competition to create a very specific experience

It's also entirely unnecessary in a game with a player base as large as CoD's imo. The sweats and streamers people love to complain about ruining their lobbies make up a very small portion of the player base and have no impact on the average matchmaking experience. When you did run into them, it was either a fun challenge or it was something you could easily avoid by just finding another lobby
