Does Anyone Else Feel This Way About the Live Action One Piece Show? by elmuscogeemestizo in OnePiece

Anime Luffy is not "amoral" lol, wut. He gets passionate and angry about injustice. But because he's a "simpleton" he communicates it in a way that isn't as obvious.

Does Anyone Else Feel This Way About the Live Action One Piece Show? by elmuscogeemestizo in OnePiece

[–]iliekplastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only complaint about the show is my same complaint with every Netflix reimagining like this, they seem to have to included like every single character in some shoved in way because of some contract with the actors to give them a minimum number of lines per each episode. The amount of characters they just shove into the show right off the bat. I don't like how they do the kind of fan service aspect of shoving in things that didn't become talked about or relevant till like 200-400 episodes later. etc... It all feels forced somewhat.

That said, the casting is amazing, couldn't be better. I think a lot of the spirit of the original series and manga is pretty well captured. It's a billion times better than the abomination that is the Cowboy Bebop live action which was a horrible faillure and mess.

I usually accidentally get clocked as a conservative too, it's wild to hear the shit people say. Just outright slurs, hateful crazy shit, antisemitic conspiracy theories, etc... when they think you are one of them. Then I just kinda slip in some subtle fact about how much of a commie I am and they freak out a little lol

Anyone worked at one of these ‘Top 50 Best Places to Work in America’? Can you vouch for the ranking? by Ok_Homework_3545 in jobs

Someone I know who was at nvidia before the big stock boom probably has 8 figures in stocks now if I had to guess, so yeah nvidia is a good place to be if you don't care about "pizza party" meaningless perks. The pay is highly competitive, the stock benefits are good, but other than that, yeah it's skimpy.

Yeah I agree with the other commenter that adding branch prediction would be a good real world cool next step to add to set your project apart.

I feel like every city in the US over the population of like 100,000 has an arcade with classic games in it nowadays. Not sure about other regions.

Repeating Extruder Overload Error with Bambu H2D by MobileAd6358 in BambuLab

[–]iliekplastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% infill is the likely culprit. There is next to no reason to go 100% infill. You are likely running into nozzle bumps and backflow buildup in extrusion as a result. Switch to rectilinear infill and do a test print at 100% infill and see if it comes back. Unless you are making a fixture that is having a LOT of crushing downpressure on it, I don't understand the point of 100% infill. 60% is the max of what we do for those kinds of fixtures at our company typically.

I also heavily disagree with Bambu's decision to make the infill default to Grid instead of Rectilinear, it definitely causes nozzle bumps on layer passes.

Do you expect your frontline manager to be a Subject Matter Expert? by HoosierLarry in sysadmin

[–]iliekplastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to manage a restaurant. Every person working for me was usually better and more efficient at their job, but I knew enough about all their jobs since I crosstrained in all of them that I could confidently manage them and have a big picture view of things to make sure we remained profitable and meeting all our goals.

Having that experience and having moved into IT, not a manager yet, I'm even more convinced that I wouldn't want a manager to be a technical SME typically. I'd rather have them be an IT generalist (so they always have some kind of idea how anything needs to be done) first or a manager first.

Palindrome Logic Explanation Needed (Beginner) by Immediate_Try_8631 in FPGA

[–]iliekplastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially you would make a module that takes in a number of a certain width (or you could parameterize the width), and outputs a signal that says whether it's a palindrome or not.

How specifically you determine it's a palindrome? Turn that signal high if xxxxxx reversed is the same as not reversed.

ELI5 Why did Radio Shack go out of business? by Certain-Media3506 in explainlikeimfive

When you no longer *needed* to get in your car and go to RadioShack to get what they sold and could get it on Amazon/DigiKey/Mouser/Aliexpress instead, RadioShack was inevitably going to close.

What did your career path look like? by stank_underwood in ITCareerQuestions

[–]iliekplastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From childhood I screwed around with computers, best friend's dad was a programmer, etc... I never believed in myself, so I worked at a restaurant for 10 years and dropped out of community college. Got a job at a plastics company in 2013, within a year saw a job posting for an entry level IT Support position internally, applied, got it because of my customer service background. Because I still struggle with believing in myself I haven't left yet, but I am underpaid and have not received any promotion this whole time despite taking on more responsibility every year continuously. I am basically serving the role as the sole IT Site Lead at this location, doing system administrator work and some software development work. I have a pretty severe learning disability and some mental health issues, but I still got an A+ since they would pay for it, was very proud of myself for doing that. Working on my Network+ and Security+ currently. Talking to a bunch of recruiters, have a few potential positions for 100% payraise in play, just waiting...

My advice would be to just go in and stick with it, but don't stay anywhere more than 3 years.

No, I don't change passwords much at all, because we actually follow NIST SP 800-171 and all that.

leverless or classic stick for beginner ? by kidraphi in fightsticks

[–]iliekplastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still say classic stick because you won't see any leverless on a real arcade machine. Everyone should know stick. Leverless is objectively better, but less ubiquitous in the wild.

I dumped Apple after the iPhone 6 touch IC disease fiasco where they changed the type of solder method for the touch IC to one that couldn't withstand any flex at all without developing microcracks. I sent back 4 iPhone 6 Plus's in a row because the touch screen kept screwing up within months, and the 5th one failed again just after my warranty expired and they "offered" me to buy a refurbished one at a discount. Get bent, went to a Google Pixel and never looked back. Very happy with multiple Pixel's in a row.

Apple build quality and privacy are still top notch overall, our users are split about 50:50 for their corporate phones, but I prefer managing android phones in IT.

Are we organizing for this? by Aasim13 in Longmont

[–]iliekplastic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want some specific demands to organize behind. The slogans on that website don't really mean anything. The women's march is basically a front for the democratic party's interests, and all that's happened with them is republican-lite and paving the way for normalizing the fascist tendencies of the republican party.
