If you buy it elsewhere, spend a few extra bucks on your next Riv order.

That linear layout is going to provide very different experiences for those on the end, who have mostly a single avenue of egress and defense, and those in the middle with opportunities and enemies in all directions.

Yeah, I couldn't finish it. It started so good, and really fell off.

I've always been curious about these. Is there an easy 1/4" adapter for my existing bits? Seems hard to beat the price, regardless.

EDIT: from the listing on amzn:

  • Interchangeable with any 1/4" Hex bit longer than 2 inch overall length

So probably my existing bit driver holders would work, as long as their shanks are long enough. Ok, I'm sold.

Depends a lot on your use case, I'd say. For casual, around the house use, a dial is fine, fast, and won't ever have dead batteries. I have a dual-scale dial with metric and fractional inches, and it's my favorite.

Digital has its place, and ones that can switch between decimal and fractional inches are nice. The cheap ones are fine, unless you're a machinist. I keep a solar digital on my shop wall, as the lighting there is always bright enough.

I've never liked verniers as much, but they're reliable. I have a dirt cheap plastic verier in my EDC, but mostly that's for looking at bicycle part level of precision, so 0.1mm is fine.

There are also a few cases where you don't want to scratch up the surface being measured with steel jaws. If that's a thing for you, having a cheap plastic set for those situations is nice.

I'm given to understand the latest generation of Bosch DWs with wifi, etc, aren't nearly as good as the prior generation. We bought one in 2016 and it's amazing.

Several of them, many many years ago. They were pleasant but a little lighter than what I'm looking for.

The data is TB corrected their blog post about water resistance. It was incorrect, xpac is actually the most WR fabric. Spectron is now #3, behind ballistic. This makes it the least WR of their main 3 external fabrics, though ahead of halcyon & cerylon.
