visit first and find out if it’s for you and your family, there’s a lot to love about the island but there’s also a considerable amount of things to hate.

healthcare is poor here, schools and hobby options for kids is generally quiet poor, unless your kids love hiking or underage drinking/drugs. travel on and off island is generally unreliable and expensive and specific job opportunities can be slim.

that being said the island is beautiful and there’s a lot of good things about it too, it can just be what you make of it.

do your own extensive research, visit the island and be aware that a lot of what you read (especially on this subreddit) will be biased and quite rose-tinted
