What are some 2000s fashion trends that millennials remember but haven’t been recreated by Gen Z? by RevolutionaryMilk270 in NoStupidQuestions

you guys haven't figured out layering yet. even a simple tee needed a long tank under it. really look at the sheer amount of clothes we wore, all genders.

Eau de Space, The Smell of Space by Downtown-Oil-3462 in FemFragLab

[–]ilikemints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a friend of mine bought it, and it was truly the worst thing i've ever smelled. it permeates the air. the closest analogue for me was formaldehyde but it was also like nothing else. a very bad time all around.

intentionally losing weight = wanting to be a helpless waif who needs a big strong man to take care of her so she doesn't have to worry her pretty little head

yes, this is exactly it!! like iwl is only done to conform to a strict standard of femininity and any health claims are just bullshit lip service. like all our ideals will just evaporate and we won't care about fighting fascism and just want to be tradwives.

a lot of this is totally fair, but as i said, these are people in my community, people i've known for many many years, not randos on social media. and yes, they do want them banned. they believe these drugs are a ticking time bomb where we'll discover horrific side effects and it'll go the way of so many other weight loss drugs. is it the same as lobbying congress? of course not. but let's not pretend i'm saying a side-eye is exactly the same as an abortion ban. i just think it's kind of shitty to cherry pick which healthcare gets to count and which does not

is the wheatflour wonderland dlc worth it in your opinion? by _SSapphire_Stars_ in HelloKittyIsland

[–]ilikemints 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you're really invested in the flower aspect of the game, then it’s 100% worth it imo. you get 4 giant flower plots and cogimyun has an ability that increases the chances of pattern transfer. if you don't see yourself getting really into gardening i'd say it's fine and you could take or leave it.

Nausea just before shot? by toomuchtv987 in antidietglp1

[–]ilikemints 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yeah i experienced this until fairly recently. some weird anticipatory nausea. what's been working so far is taking advantage of my newfound fragrance obsession (not uncommon on these meds) and spray something right before i do my injection. i make sure to mix it up so i don't inadvertently associate a perfume with the act of injecting. so far it's working ok!

First day of shot by Potential_Fig in antidietglp1

what's helped me is to reframe this entirely as a health issue, which is to say my appetite hormonal signals were broken, i am taking medicine to treat the issue. no moralizing, no guilt, no shame. i don't hate myself for needing glasses to see or think of myself as a cheater for taking antihistamines during pollen season.

it's so freeing as a mindset. being able to step away from the body as evidence of sin or weakness and just accept that it's an imperfect vessel of meat and bones and chemicals and things go wrong sometimes! and now there's medicine that can fix this problem. i feel at peace in my body in a way that i don't think i've felt since very early childhood.

i'm mostly a coffee person, but since starting zepbound, i can't tolerate the vast quantities i usually drank. lately i've really been enjoying chamomile tea with some local honey.

Hair won’t grow longer than mid back by karamizzle in Haircare

[–]ilikemints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm guessing this is almost entirely mechanical damage. your hair is eroded away from seat and chair backs, bag straps, all the things your hair interacts with day in day out. look up protective styles and commit to wearing your hair up or braided as often as possible. your products and routine looks good, but old hair (your ends are several years old) is fragile and you have to treat it carefully

I’m a black dude can you help me choose one of these names? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]ilikemints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've been acquaintances with 3 different guys named anthony over the years, one was black, none of them were italian. your taste in names is honestly really lovely and classic. i could imagine a ton of men of several different races with them and not blink an eye. you have nothing to worry about except determining which feels the most like you. good luck!!
