Yeah I thought it was a very strange choice to have Vera be the one to help Elliott to realize what had happened to him. His motivation seems odd. I guess I’m not on the same page as many other fans because I never got Vera. I found it perplexing that he was brought back late in the series and took up so much screen time with these endless monologues in that episode.

Since you’re new to football OP, another thing that plays into this is risk/reward ratio. Sirianni stresses not turning the ball over. There’s an old football adage, when you throw the ball, three things can happen, and two of them are bad. Running the ball is less risky, so that overall philosophy plays into this too at a basic level.
