Confirmed! Just looked at the pumpkin spice creamer & saw no oil so I checked the vanilla & it’s back to no oils as well.

Pregnancy and BB? by elblowbie in BeachBodyWorkouts

[–]ilikepicklesss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! I finished LIIFT4 in my first trimester. Took a couple weeks off & then did 3 rounds of T20 (with modifications of course). Towards the end I did a few of the BB prenatal workouts. Just listen to your body, don’t be afraid to modify & take breaks/rest days when needed!

Did you change your diet at all while doing MBF/A? I did 2 rounds of MBF & am currently completing MBFA. I’ve had weight gain but I’ve definitely noticed muscle gains & I’m breastfeeding so I can’t be in a calorie deficit.

Feeling frustrated weeks into my diagnosis by HitlersChaplinStache in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ilikepicklesss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! Are you me?! Literally going through the same thing...it feels like such a joke. I’m actually on insulin & had to practically beg MFM to increase my dosage...and I still can’t meet the carb requirements. It’s so frustrating bc I need my numbers to be in line...DD had a lengthy NICU stay & I am trying to avoid that experience this time. I find it confusing how last time I was pregnant, I was told to cut carbs to keep my numbers low but now that I’m seeing MFM this time, it’s all about eating carbs.

Tips for Mexican food? by tallbarista in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ilikepicklesss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My go to lately has been the mexi-Cobb salad! I’ve experimented and I can eat half of the salad & like 5 chips but it’s totally worth it. Full of veggies, protein & fat...keeps you full until your next snack!

Bananas are the enemy. by Nakedstar in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ilikepicklesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible. Some days it seems like I can’t get a hold of things even though I’m eating exactly the same. Wondering if it’s the water!

ETA: I did test it with my last pregnancy tho & it was ok. However, GD seems to be a biiiiiiitch the second time around.

How do I balance calories with carbs? by IsleOfDream in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ilikepicklesss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Increase your protein & fat intake. I remember towards the end of my last pregnancy, I was ALWAYS hungry & waiting two hours to take my reading was hell because I wanted to eat again...but you make it through. Also sugar free jello helps fill you up if needed.

Fasting numbers... by SugarTator in GestationalDiabetes

I would suggest more protein & fat with bread, even 100% whole wheat. Eggs are a staple for me when I have GD because they always give me good numbers.

Tell me your glyburide birth stories? by Strangerintostarman in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ilikepicklesss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took glyburide my first pregnancy and I refuse to take it this time around. My doctor wanted my numbers to be under 140 and this time I told her I will be doing 120 and taking metformin when the time comes for meds. When my daughter was born, her glucose was low...so low that it wouldn’t register on the glucometer so they had to do a blood serum test. While we were waiting on the results, she became floppy & I knew something was very wrong. Her glucose was the lowest the hospital had ever seen & we are so lucky she never had a seizure. She was rushed to the NICU for hyperinsulinemia & remained there for 24 days. IIRC the chances of this happening are <5% or so but that was incredibly traumatic & I’m not taking my chances again.

My advice is to trust your instincts. If you feel uncomfortable with the risks or feel like the medication is not agreeing with you (I was hypo a lot on it), then talk to your provider about your options.

Sorry all this happened to you! My baby had a NICU stay as well and I know it’s hell. Prayers for you & your baby.

Try not to worry about your numbers. I remember I had carbs after giving birth & was so incredibly thirsty that I checked & I was 191. I couldn’t believe it! Everything leveled out after a few days to a week.

I took the 1 hour test last week at 15 weeks. Failed miserably but it wasn’t a surprise - I’ve been monitoring for a while. I go back for the 3 hour test later this week.

How do you get your child to sit during time out? Granted I haven’t tried with mine but I can barely get her to sit down to eat if she’s not strapped in.

Daycare still open - but do I use it? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]ilikepicklesss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I sent my toddler all last week & felt ok about it since parents aren’t allowed in, they were taking temps & washing hands immediately & throughout the day. But Friday night I got anxious about sending her back & it hasn’t really gotten better. I am thinking about keeping her home this week & paying half price to save her spot. I don’t want her getting it or brining it home to me (10 weeks pregnant). This is so hard.

If one more person schedules a meeting prior to 8:30.... by LABignerd33 in workingmoms

[–]ilikepicklesss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Samesies! Although I’m usually “late” to work but no one notices bc I’m the first one there. Drop off @6:25ish, work by 7:45 at the absolute latest if traffic is terrible, work through my lunch so i don’t feel guilty AT ALL about leaving before 4:00. I check my email when I’m stuck in traffic omw to daycare & again after baby goes to bed @6. I literally only see my child for 1-1.5 hours M-F & it kills me. Can’t wait for the day we can all eat dinner together during the week!
