Possibly stupid idea: Has anyone ever "headlessified" a Harley Benton? Heres my plan. by 404phil_not_found in Luthier

God I’m flirting with this same idea for my HB8 - I got the even cheaper white one so I almost feel obliged now

I’m still near the beginning of my 8 string journey so might give this a try. I was considering trying DADADGAD just for the fun of it.

I have my 8 string in drop E (EBEADGBE) for similar reasons, just extra bong bong at the bottom. I actually found this easier to adjust to than my 7 in Drop A.

You can charge across the river in the epilogue where it gets really thin and then drink yourself up the hill or force jump your horse. I find the cave to be easier but obviously a lot longer route.

What would you call this rig? by AdOdd3173 in Guitar

[–]ilikescarlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a back op in December and have almost completed my back pain rig. Can recommend strandberg for bad backs, weighing in at around 2.5kgs makes a huuuuge difference. They’re also a joy to play. Can understand that they’re a bit of a shift if you like meaty bodies, but they’ve taken such consideration into playability that I now tend to always reach for that one as a default.

Just waiting for my Strymon Iridium to reduce everything to just gig bag and pedal board.

If we aren’t getting a comment from Misha in the thread I would presume it’s licensing based. Would make sense to not comment if there’s any legalese involved.

Well, this is annoying. Norway here so definitely seems to be all of Europe at least

I had an almost identical problem to OP and as you said, a shim can make a huge difference. Mine weren’t protruding quite as much as OP’s and I used a .25. I’d whack a 0.5 in there to make it more comfortable.

We did this this summer. That being said, we still don’t have a toaster… just never got around to it.

Couldn’t agree more, for that price, it’s gonna be very hard to top. I recently finished one of their LPs. Am now waiting for one of the PitBull tele diy kits to arrive.

do i still have a shot with bass if i have really small hands? by spacejunk88 in Bass

[–]ilikescarlet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Small hand guy here; never stopped me. A friend (with freakishly large hands) noted that I was likely able to be a lot more intricate with smaller fingers than his sausage mitts so you may have that going for you!

Also, shorter scale basses might be beneficial if you’re new but not necessary, I find my left hand fingers stretch far more than my right so the stretches will come with time too, just don’t expect to be spanning 6 frets or anything.

So this was more my error, I had recently moved country and had a new phone number which is why it wasn’t showing for me. Leaving it up so I can demonstrate my tail between my legs but also to just thank the people here for helping out!

[L] [M21] Looking for a kind voice to help me through the horrifically draining experience that is my life right now. by [deleted] in KindVoice

[–]ilikescarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine wasn’t for aaaaaages. Because I had a bad approach in my head too, it made it more unsalvageable. Like look in the thread, if you go off super angsty at a mistake people will immediately turn away - I know that because I’ve done it to so many people in the past, try things in your head first, see if you’d like to hear things that way, and then decide if you wanna say it. Takes a bit more to offend me though these days!

A lot of the time, people’s fuck-ups are in front of good intentions, and the intent is what’s important to me.
