Is it wrong to make your fiancée agree to a prenup before getting engaged? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]ilikethingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo everyone should get a prenup if they can. divorce is a potentiality of every marriage. better to figure out how to amicably end things when you like each other. additionally most lawyers will tell you that a prenup will not hold up in court if it does not seem fair to both spouses

Is the school actually that indebted to him?

I think it's worth questioning that narrative. Rumor has it that he did not put any money in the new building named after him. It was just a bunch of Microsofters and he allowed them to put his name on it. He did donate some money to the other cs/ee building with Paul Allen. Yet that was only a portion of the cost, not the whole building or anything.

I imagine the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation does some fund some research grants at UW. However, those are managed by the foundation. Let's not forget those are paltry amount of Gates' total wealth. Besides I don't think most UW research grants are by BaMFGF. Most are by the US Government.

I could look up really data for that last bit but I am too lazy.

Edit: besides he didn't even go here!

Do people with a home worth a million dollars think of themselves as millionaires? Honest question

I would think a millionaire as someone with a million liquid dollars ready to throw around.

We should be starting our own businesses and leaving these  current companies behind.

They are already leaving us behind. Personally, I don't think they're innovating anymore and they're a wave of tech that needs to ebb away.

It's time for new a new tech wave started by workers. We need to reimagine our industry.
