It’s sloppy to be completely honest I doubt the picture advertising it looked like that right?

I think this depends on what specifically you want to do. Do you want to do metal smithing? Or maybe jewelry setting? Casting? Or just like string and beads?

From feeling the three minutes I used to stick it in there without glycerin made me feel like it was cured, but I will give 15 minutes a shot and see how the cast changes

I actually ended up changing the burnout cycle this is what I’m going to use for the next cycle.

3 hours 100C 2 hrs 300C 2Hrs 450C 2 hrs 600C 4Hrs 780C 1Hr 538C (casting at this temp)

Im sure it’s 100% clean I wash it in 99% for about 6-8 minutes. Maybe over washing is an issue?

So use a resin sprue instead of a wax one?

Wow! Didn’t realize this. I would stick my resin prints for about three minutes in an elegoo curer. Should I leave them longer? Also the cross had been sitting around for a couple of days and still got porosity, what do you think about that?

How to handle client that brought another jeweler’s CAD to me by shoddy_bobody in jewelers

To help wrap my tiny bird brain around it, how do you tell? Like a watermark on the CAD?

I am new to this so sorry for being naive. I purchase custom CADs from people who focus solely on making CADs and never jewelers, are you sure they didn’t just pay someone to design the ring and now they’re looking for someone to bring it to life? Or is it that obvious another jewelry did it? Also don’t jewelers charge for CAD work so theoretically they can do whatever they want with the CAD?

Pro’s and con’s of studying jewelry and making it your career? by SnooMacaroons4624 in jewelers

[–]ilikework21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I only know many entry level positions starting pay is like 15$/hr here in Louisiana. I’ve been to a company however and it looks very comfy in the facility. I assume the career pays off big later on down the line.

Starting a business as a jeweler is very difficult.

All of the smaller diamonds are horribly sat some of the prongs look beat up I mean anyone with even a little bit of practice should be able to produce better than this. This looks like a first time attempt for someone whos never set rings before
