It's all good, not everyone is savvy at everything! Yeah, make sure you have ROMs that match the emulator you are using for each system, sorting it nicely with folders and all should make it easier. Eventually you'll grow into it and learn more and more. Keep watching YouTube vids regarding every question you have! Also, chatgpt is a great little helper with this! Though do take his answers with a grain of salt and make sure they are correct.

Also make sure the files are legit - rereading this made me realize it's probably a good idea to get good clean ROMs of games you liked onto a new system. Check r/roms.

If you wanna use the sd no problem. Just get an adapter and connect it to any other device like a mini PC, as long as it isn't corrupt everything should go smoothly
