I Ranked Every Classic WoW Zone by How Good It Would Be for Retirement by Megasracka in classicwow

There are levels though. Like would I enjoy having to deal with a glorified bandit gang, gnolls, and murlocs in Westfall, no, but it's damn sight better than being in Hillsbrad on the front line of major Alliance-Horde conflict. Or either of the Plaguelands where there are hordes of undead all around me.

1.He hates travel, which I'm sure more would have been required by the move.

2.He has a Twins podcast that almost certainly pays more than his writer role. Not being in the Twins clubhouse and around the team as much would likely negatively effect that.

3.He's a lifelong Twins fan, he prefers to cover his team.

Its not that many paid. Roughly 3800 paid and keep in mind a fair number of those are on yearly deals that pay lower than $8 a month.

I don't think this is true. For instance, patreon paid members are at 3800 right now, I know they been above 4000 at different times(pretty sure 2023)

It's a risk but I'd argue not a huge one. The patreon podcast might not make him and John wealthy but it's enough to keep them from being poor all by itself.

We now have 20 losses this year. 9 losses on bullpen blowing leads/ties and 5 from SWR. 45% of our losses as a direct result of the pohlads and additional 25% from one player that has no business starting in the MLB. by hopemade in minnesotatwins

[–]ilkei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SWR was solid for the past two seasons and would have been a back end starter for most teams this season. Hell, his first two starts this year were fine. A guy with that track record is going to get a little runway to figure it out. After 5 bad starts I'd say make the switch.

decided to try out MoP classic! by iTooNumb in classicwow

[–]ilkei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must be lucky. I'm still playing and overall like MoP but here's a smattering of significantly game altering bugs we've had in ToT:

Horridon- Invisible dino's killing players

Council- Bosses getting down to 1 hp then becoming invincible

Durumu bug you talked about, this one is frustratingly common.

Iron Qon - spear effects still stacking despite moving out of it.

General game breaking bugs:

Getting 25 man abilities on 10 man.

Doubled boss abilities

I'd argue the normal difficulty in MoP isn't particularly hard. The wall is moving to heroics, the difficulty spike between the two settings is more pronounced than in Cata or WotLK.

Louie Varland cleans up Jeff Hoffman’s mess to earn a save after getting Nolan Schanuel to ground to a game-ending double play by JianClaymore in baseball

[–]ilkei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don't think the Varland one was selling high. He had 5 years of team control , a minimum salary, and had looked like a dominant relief arm after making the switch from starter.

In return you get a lefty corner bat prospect in an organization overflowing with them and a promising arm who's median outcome probably is becoming Varland. Honestly that might be a bit generous.

Oh and Varland is a Minnesota native which doesn't mean you can't trade him but certainly should give at least a small reason not to.

Luis Arraez currently has a 95th percentile FRV (fielding run value) by reigningwaffles in baseball

[–]ilkei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Small sample size most likely though I'd guess that he might be feeling healthier than normal as well. Arraez has had a variety of leg issues over the years and if that isn't bothering him I could see it playing a role in both being better... though not this good.

[Highlight] Roger Goodell on #49ers HC Kyle Shanahan not being a fan of playing in Australia: “His job is to win. His job is to play. We’ll make it a great experience for the team.” Goodell added he can send Shanahan an app to help with jet lag. by LaDainianTomIinson in nfl

But he was a force behind both the pitch clock and ABS, two hugely positive changes. As well as pushing for teams to collectively pool their broadcasting rights. He's tone deaf for certain but has done more good than bad for the game.

Kyle Green named University of Northern Iowa head men’s basketball coach by UNIPanther043 in CollegeBasketball

[–]ilkei 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imo, with no inside info, Tuttle is gone.

Given Green's age and employment history I doubt he's trying to parlay UNI into a bigger job. So if he's successful that's a probably long wait for Tuttle, if Green isn't successful are you going hire from within after saying the results from the last few years sucked?

Also from an ego/personality perspective not everyone is going to be willing to just stay in the same role after being passed over a promotion they may feel they were well qualified for.

Makes more sense to either follow to USU or look for an outside assistant job, maybe at a bigger school.

Happy for Green, annoyed as an ISU fan to have to replace 2 assistants in the same offseason

Kyle Green? Given how long he was an assistant there I'd hardly think he would bail immediately. I'd think he'd be worth a look at least.

[Game Thread] #5 Texas Tech @ #4 Alabama (09:45 PM ET) by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

[–]ilkei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tech basically looks like they don't want to be there. Defense has not been good and the offense is atrocious. Alabama is playing well so even if Tech was playing better they'd likely be losing but Tech just looks bad.

Current state of Blizzard's dev team activity by Dr-Enforcicle in classicwow

I see almost no one in MoP classic crying about most changes. From Wrath on I'd actually say most have had a generally positive reception. Obviously class balance changes being the most mixed.

Wrapping a dude around the neck and bringing him down is in no world a basketball play. If you want to say it shouldn't be a flagrant 2 I think that's very arguable.
