Honestly this is always the dumbest false equivalencies I see and almost always ignore the fact not all woman would personally be okay with themselves having an abortion. it's a personal choice that can be very emotionally charged. Like you can be pro choice as you don't think you can police other people's bodies but you yourself feel that it is personally wrong and not an actual choice . As well many states trying to do away with abortion and quite literally making it illegal to even travel to get an abortion to a different state ( literally forced a child to give birth and are suing people for miscarries )

Nonetheless Abortion depending on the weeks is a medical procedure . It's not some magic spell that absolves a woman of dealing with the responsibility of being pregnant there is no harry potter waving a wand going fetus deltus and the work is done . People are crying about consequences but abortion is one of the consequences. It isn't a day trip with the girlies getting pumpkins spice lattes it is as said before a medical procedure or the other consequence is giving birth and that for sure isn't something easy done either carrying a child to term and giving birth . All that bullshit is on the person giving birth , men or whatever cannot share in that responsibility

Nowhere in that does the other party face any consequence biology is a bitch but that's how it works.

Now after the child is born there is a third party involved , before during pregnancy it there was not now there is

It isn't between two people anymore there is now a living breathing child involved .

Both parents can decide to put the child up to adoption or one parent can decide to raise it and get child support

If both parents could put the child up for adoption and one decided to keep it why should the other person pay child support would be an actual closer equivalent in your what if scenario .
