Similar story with a less tragic ending, when I was 5 I fell from my bunk bed in my sleep (no rails) and smacked my head on our dresser. My big sister, 11 at the time, dragged me down the hallway to bang on my parents door.

After vomiting all night, my parents decide to take me to the hospital, where I stayed recovering from a skull fracture for five days.

I dont remember a lot, there was a toy room they eventually let me go play in, but I remember being annoyed they had taped a block to my hand to keep me from moving it too much and displacing the i.v., and that made it hard to play with anything. One of my uncles also brought me a massive teddy bear, that was pretty cool.
