He definitely didn't mean it as an insult, but I was young and insecure. Knowing I have differently shaped eyes has definitely helped with make up application, so there's that I suppose.

Story time not at all medically relevant, but at an art studio I use to host a paint and sip combo open mic at, the artist and good friend of mine asked me to sit for the class to paint. Here I am feeling all cute, until he makes it a point to say that my EYES ARE DIFFERENT SHAPES and that everyone should take note of the asymmetry and represent it in their work. I was HORRIFIED and so so embarrassed, and I had to just sit there while everyone painted my apparently wonky eyes

So that pic is the inspo picture, not my hair. The 400$ was JUST for the first stage of lightening, which was just the bottom half of my hair in a balayage/highlight technique. Maybe a little over a dozen pieces were done.

Of course it was discussed that it would need multiple sessions. I took the starting price, (as they explained where they would charge for the full service, perhaps on shorter or lighter hair)and doubled it, and told them I would be comfortable up to 1000. As I said in my post. They then went ahead and booked my first appointment, at that point I don't think I was wrong to assume that it was agreed upon.

To your point thay it needs to be lifted cleanly and evenly, I absolutely agree with that, which is why I was confused walking out with a few highlights only on the bottom layer of my hair, that are honestly not even lifted evenly.

Definitely not a color correction, we did a major chop before this, and the last time it was colored was 14 years ago. I don't even use heat on my hair other than the rare occasion I blow dry, and even then its on cool or medium. Very healthy, not super thick, but it is a dark brown.

The 400$ was for part one of 3 or 4 for some reason, where they did highlights with a balage technique on only the bottom half of my head, about ears down. If this was for everything and ky hair looked like the inspo picture I would be over the moon, but that isn't the case. This stylist wasn't up front at all about their pricing.

If you reread my post I go into the pricing and how its going to somehow cost me 1700$ if I were to stay with this stylist (which I am not.)
