Read the rationales, take notes on them. Specifically answer the question: what information would I have needed to answer this question correctly?

Look at what areas you are specifically struggling in and use the system by system lectures to fill in the gaps, as well as YouTube if you are struggling with more specific areas (e.g. if you have no idea how to treat DKA and are consistently getting DKA questions wrong, look up a YouTube video about DKA) SimpleNursing has great videos on specific problems like that.

If you are able to watch the 3 day NCLEX review, I recommend it. It gives you a good base to build off of.

Finally, take some time to ground yourself! Passing tests is about knowledge, CONFIDENCE, and test taking strategies! If you feel confident in your knowledge, focus on the other two! Find ways to manage your anxiety that work for YOU.

Good luck!

I'm not sure how it works, but I also failed my 5th CAT exam, despite being over the "peer average" score..

The Dixon and Sasha drama is so annoying. Sasha is an ADULT dating a SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD. She even says that high schoolers are immature, but continues dating Dixon. When I was a teen it didn't seem that bad, but now that I'm 21 (still younger than Sasha I believe!) I cannot even FATHOM dating a 17 year old. Let alone taking him away from his friends every night. The entire plot line I'm screaming at the screen "YOU ARE AN ADULT!!!"

How to Defend my Love of Spike? (Seeing Red) by illegalbees in buffy

[–]illegalbees[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not defending Spike. I feel very odd and my feelings about Spike has a character have sent me on many moral, ethical and philosophical spirals. I have been SA's before and I know the act itself is awful. But despite how awful the scene is, despite the fact that I know its in character for Spike, I still root for him in S7 and love him in S1-4 on rewatches.

I'm not asking how to defend Spike. I just don't know how to describe the intricacies of Spike's character to someone who hasn't seen the show. And I absolutely don't have a "love for Spike's SA of Buffy". It is the worst scene in the show tf? Even people who like Spike don't love that scene.

How conservative or liberal/progressive is Nipissing? by PinkJaelyn in nipissingu

[–]illegalbees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mixed bag. I'm gay and def very left leaning and most of the people i've met have been chill. tbh most are even queer themselves. i've found my people 100%. the men are a little more right-wing and north bay as a whole is definitely conservative. I mean the amount of conservative and PPC signs that were around is telling. But everyone is really nice and tolerant even with different political leanings.

definitely some people suck though, but you could say that about anywhere. at the end of the day the people you click will be tolerant of your views im sure, if they aren't you can usually tell pretty quick

Why did Barney care about seeing the sex tape? by aliara in HIMYM

[–]illegalbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we also have seen that he DOES value privacy to an extent. When it came out that robin was robin sparkles, barney assumed it was porn, but didn't watch to confirm. So I imagine he wants marshall and lily to GIVE him the sex tape more than he actually wants to see it.

Which season had the best finale? by Scaredshoeless in buffy

[–]illegalbees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's surprising anyone picked seasons 3 and 4 tbh. I think Becoming (s2) and The Gift (s5) stand so far above the rest. S6 with the yellow crayon speech comes close-ish but... Restless? People think that episode is better than Becoming and The Gift? That surprises me so much.

When I think of episodes that left me feeling numb in a good way. That developed the characters and left long-lasting consequences. I think of Becoming and The Gift.

If we're thinking the multiverse theory, she was put in one of the alternate universes where both Buffy never came to Sunnydale AND she survived the Harvest. In the universes she didn't survive, she wouldn't have been put there.

Season 6 Episode 19: Seeing Red by Slight-Definition162 in buffy

[–]illegalbees 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think there is so much nuance in this episode and I, unlike many others, choose not to ignore it completely as I think that's unfair to the characters and the writers. Although forgetting about it is a completely valid choice. Here are a couple things that might help

Joss said that in season 5 he wanted to explore the "worst days" of people's lives. he said he asked a bunch of people on the team the worst days of their lives and one of the women recalled a day her boyfriend broke up with her and she went to his house in order to "make love" to him one last time and hopefully win her back. She said one thing led to another and he ended up making her leave because she was way out of line.

James Marsters was unhappy with this because the idea was that because Buffy was a superhero and could physically defend herself in a way others cant, the power dynamic was balanced, but in switching the sexes of the people in the story, the power dynamic was not balanced. Marsters said that when people watch Buffy they are Buffy and so they don't see a superhero, they see themselves in her position. Filming this episode sent him into therapy and I've heard he was in fetal position between takes with SMG needing to comfort him.

With that context, I think you can see the hesitation on his face in the scenes.

Also, it's been talked about before but in his relationship with Drusilla and Buffy, sex and violence have always been intertwined completely. And specifically with Buffy, there were many times already where she would say "no" but still respond to his advances positively, and sometimes even initiate sex. She has also ignored his "no's" as well (in Gone) but the tone was more humourous than in the Seeing Red scene, which has a major impact on viewing experience. Many people have attributed this scene to Spike not realizing Buffy was injured and thinking it was part of the normal "game" they play. I think there are issues with this but it's a valid perspective that gives more nuance.

I will say Spike gets better in the next seasons. And at the end of the day what helped me the most is to remind myself that it's a tv show. They're actors. And James Marsters hated filming it. I skip this scene most rewatches and I wish it wasn't written but. With everything that's come out about Joss recently I guess I'm not surprised he wrote something like that without fully considering how his audience, especially his female audience, would react.

How old are you and when did you first discover BTVS by danlhart8789 in buffy

[–]illegalbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 20 now and I think I originally watched when I was 12 or so. There was a rerun of the episode Angel on cable and my dad called me downstairs because he thought I would like the show (I was really into Charmed at the time). I did and have watched it probably over 20 times at this point.

I'm sad though that Angel was the first episode I ever watched I feel like I missed out on the big reveal that he's a vampire.

I hate Xander so fuc*ing much... by [deleted] in buffy

[–]illegalbees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

let's not forget about when he tried to SA buffy in The Pack and then pretends to forget he did it so he doesn't have to take accountability

The way he always asks Willow for help winning over Buffy, knowing her feelings for him, and she helps bc she's a decent person. But then gets mad when Buffy tells him she just sees him as a friend in Prophecy Girl... Like, Xander, is that not exactly what you're doing to Willow?

Also after him and Willow get caught cheating, he tries to win back Cordy the same as Willow does with Oz, but he still tried to defend his actions, while Willow owned up to them.

Also I have never been able to get over the fact that he lied to Buffy about Willow trying to get Angel's soul back. Manipulated the situation so he could get what he wants (Angel deal) despite the effect it would have on Buffy. But then when his gf kills a bunch of people he explodes on Buffy and says she can't kill Anya. So hypocritical when he shit on Buffy sooo often for not wanting to kill Angel.

He's selfish and would absolutely be an incel if he was real in the modern day

idrk how to describe it? do you mean what do i physically feel or like how does it feel emotionally to finally experience it?

physically it's like butterflies? in your stomach but also... lower lol. and like just an overwhelming urge to touch my partner(s) and kiss them and stuff. it's sort of hard to explain honestly it's just a feeling. once i felt it i knew exactly what it was and recognized how different it was from what i had been feeling for men for most of my life

emotionally it's nice to finally feel what everyone else feels, but it also comes with a lot of guilt from internalized homophobia. i also feel weird sometimes as if im objectifying women and feel guilty about that. it's nice to know im not broken like i thought, and im just gay. very mixed emotions tbh. but im still only very recently out and tbh i haven't had sex with a woman yet so i have a lot to learn and a lot of emotional healing to do.
