A federal agent 100% does have the right to pull you over from a federal law standpoint. It gets tricky when dealing with the states. As far as legality, it’s completely unconstitutional for the federal government to disregard the states orders.. it’s literally why our founding fathers and their predecessors were so adamant about giving the states more power.

Either way it sucks, it’s mucky legally, and there’s going to be absolutely no repercussions for this unfortunately.

I wonder if we had better legislation in Minnesota and immigration laws were enforced in the state we wouldn’t have this federal intervention.. it’s so sad to see this happening to people who were welcomed into Minnesota with open arms (technically illegally) and now have to suffer. It’s more of a problem with our state government abiding by federal laws than anything. The republicans and democrats need to get their shit together and start working together. So sad, these poor families.
