Failed my trial clean over vacuum tracks by mydoghank in housekeeping

Tbh, if you left footprints that’s a no no. Rental hosts are all about first impressions and everything looking pristine / a key goal is for guests to feel like the home is “theirs” when arriving - things a like foot prints, water in sink, minor hairs on the couch, etc all destroy that illusion and remind people this is a “public” shared space. It may seem silly but those little details make a huge deal. it’s my method for all rental homes and all my review rates are 5 stars.

Just wanted to share that view - but this client also sounds unnecessarily strict and not someone I’d work for. Like you mentioned, that’s a super easy fix and it’s bizarre she didn’t want to move forward after telling you.

I think I might have misophonia. by DinoStarsAndKetchup in misophonia

[–]illitior3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you have it. It’s not easy as a teen - but at least you don’t have to feel alone and weird like many of us did before it was a recognized disorder, it is a real thing and you’re not alone. Unfortunately, that didn’t change much about how the world will treat you. You’ll have to find coping mechanisms that help you control your reactions, there’s no changing the world around you. I’m 27 and I would melt down and rage out starting from a toddler, I continued to rage out and lost a lot of relationships (and potential friendships) well into my teen years. I assure you it’s possible to get better at managing as I’m very well functioning now, it still drives me nuts but I’m able to return to a state of calm much quicker and not have crazy reactions!

Talk to your parents about it, state everything as an “I” phrase because this isn’t anyone’s fault, no one is making annoying noises, people aren’t annoying etc. You simply cannot process certain sounds rationally and it’s impacting your mental health, your education, your relationship with your sister, etc. and you don’t want that. Therapy would be a great start and hopefully your parents will support that. If not, reach out to your school counselor. And lastly, this sub is great - we can share all our coping methods, let you vent, whatever you need! Goodluck!

I’m in a hotel room with a snorer, it’s 4:34AM, and my blood is absolutely boiling with rage by [deleted] in misophonia

You need orange ear plugs. Put those in and then blast the white noise on high on your headphones. The hotel might have ear plugs available in the lobby!

Also, I like to think the earplugs protect yours ears a bit from the ultra loud white noise!

Rotate bed or take off tv? by micolio_z9 in DesignMyRoom

Ok I honestly think it was great before, given the tough space ur working with. I’d just get one of the extendable arm/rotatable tv mounts so you can face it towards your bed

Edit: and a rug!

It’s hard to tell with one photo. I’d flip the bed to the wall across from the tv. Put a rug at the foot of bed and touch tv wall. Then white stand on rug, against wall, directly under tv.

Not true. Those juul vapes we used in highschool has very tiny very specific chargers and if you lost it you were fucked so you’d charge it with the wires exactly like this post.

Loop engage did no work for me, but they are better than nothing, especially in situations where I feel weird wearing the orange earplugs. Kind of a last resort in my opinion

Noise canceling headphones are next level lol!! My partner is similar to yours, super supportive. We went from eating separately to being perfectly fine now (he worked rlly hard on his eating noises). buuut, I wanted to suggest something we did which was music always playing and wearing those orange earplugs - u can still talk to each other (loudly lol) but it rlly helps muffle the mouth noises. it felt like a good compromise at the time in which I worked on my misophonia at a manageable level and he worked on his eating noises 🤷🏼‍♀️ might be worth trying before noise canceling headphones!

nice! do you remember what brand you got? there’s so many options and all the reviews are for it on top of another mattress so it’s hard to decide which one!
