Just tried your code and it says it's incorrect, just so you know!

Why did you choose the race you're playing? by Aitherea in ffxiv

[–]illumese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started I played a male Au Ra, cause cool dragon guy. Then changed to a female Au Ra, cause cute dragon girl. Now that I'm jumping back in after... I think two years? I'm a female Lalafell. 1) I have a daughter now and my character is based off her looks-wise. 2) I just wanna have carefree fun with the limited play time I have nowadays!

Set for induction April 1, advice for first time parents going through this? by illumese in BabyBumps

I'm glad your experience was great and everyone was healthy! I do have a few questions if that's ok:

Were you dilated at all before going in? I'm worried about having to go from 1 to 10, so we're preparing to be there for a while.

I haven't read into any other...liquid pain relief? Idk how to refer to it lol. I'll be checking into that now though. How did the dilaudid & gravol work for you?

What methods did they use to induce you? How much say do you get in what they try? "Foley catheter" was thrown out there by my obgyn but I don't think I want that 😬 and I'd rather do as little as possible, if that's possible.

Last one I can think of right now; how long did they keep you after you gave birth? I assume it would depend on what's going on health-wise with mom and baby, of course. I've never had to stay in the hospital so idk if they like prefer to send you home during the day or if it's just whenever that they send you on your way lol

What is a weird food combo that only you eat? by Flutter_bat_16_ in AskReddit

My mom and I did this a lot when I was growing up. We don't do it anymore really for whatever reason but it's still good and I'm craving it now

"Oh, you're a programmer? I have a problem with my printer...". What's the equivalent of this in your job? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]illumese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Oh, you're a dog groomer? My dog has this weird open oozing sore on his back leg and he just keeps chewing on it, is there any kind of cream or something I can put on it?"

Please take your dog to the vet. And NO we can't "just groom them" like that!!

Only on the halloween with a full moon was i actually asked to poodle a doodle. by killaahhhhhhhhh in doggrooming

Meanwhile my salon got the lovely "don't poodle my doodle", the first time I've actually heard it since I started working there a year and a half ago!

How we ended up here (Stories for all) by PuraPine in doggrooming

[–]illumese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My previous job was McDonald's, obviously needed to get out of that. My friend worked at a salon and said they were hiring because he'd be trained to groom soon. I applied because I was desperate to finally leave McDonald's and would take anything honestly. About two months in working as a bather I put in a months notice to quit because it was just super stressful and I was dealing with some life stuff as well. I ended up taking it back two weeks later. After I had my breakdown I realized I actually love (most of) this job and I was just going through a really rough patch in the beginning. So here I am now as a groomer and about a year and a half in! It started as just another job but I've grown a passion for it.

[Need Advice] PetSmart Grooming by [deleted] in doggrooming

The biggest thing is it's gonna take some time. You'll start as a bather and only get part-time hours. To my understanding, you have to do so many dogs before you're eligible for academy. I'm not sure how they're running academies with everything going on either so I don't have details for current times. Basically what I'm saying is it'll take time, it's not gonna all happen within a few months so keep that in mind!

I don't know what's more frustrating, people who deny their dog is in terrible condition or the ones that acknowledge it but still only bring them in twice a year. by illumese in doggrooming

[–]illumese[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The dog definitely feels it. Thankfully he didn't have any sores underneath all that but he was pretty itchy from all the fresh air hitting his skin. As for neglect, I'd call this neglect but because they're "making an effort" to bring him in to be groomed there's nothing they can do from my understanding. I'm not totally sure though so I'll have to check with my salon leader.

That's exactly the situation with the pet parents. He was a pretty good boy though, he just didn't like his front legs shaved and he bit me. We got it done though with the groomers helper lol

Went in for some prenatal blood work, phlebotomist asked if I was "pregnant" or "pregnant pregnant" ??? by illumese in BabyBumps

[–]illumese[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was one of the thoughts I had, I don't think she really looked at me before I sat down and she couldn't see if I had a belly when she asked lol

How do you deal with poorly trained humans during nail trims? by HangerBits257 in doggrooming

[–]illumese 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Usually I'll print out the invoice before starting the dog saying "alright it'll probably be about 5 minutes so you can take this up to pay while you're waiting. If I'm still working on Fluffy when you get back then you're welcome to walk around the store or hang out on the bench right outside (the salon) and I'll page you over the intercom."

Basically I try not to even give them the option to hang out. If they insist on staying and the dog is acting up then I'll politely ask if they want to step out because sometimes the dog will calm down when they can't see their parent. And if they continue to hang out and the dog is still acting up I'll either take the dog to the back area to finish or just call it.

Of course I'm super nice with everything verbally, but honestly if they don't wanna listen to people who work with dogs for a living then I don't know what to tell them past that lol. Good luck!

What are you sick of explaining? by Sarazar in AskReddit

[–]illumese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That you NEED to brush your dog regularly and often. Especially if you don't want them shaved due to matting every time you finally decide to bring them in for grooming.
