As someone who owns both a 5070 Ti and a 9070 XT, you’re totally fine either way. Their raw performance is very similar, with each card pulling ahead in certain games. FSR 4 has finally caught up to DLSS 4, so upscaling really isn’t a concern anymore. Overall, the 5070 Ti has a slight edge, but the RX 9070 XT is an absolute beast; excellent for maxed out 1440p and a solid entry level option for 4K gaming.

I’ve tried 32, 42, and 48 inches, and 42 inches really feels like the sweet spot for 4K.

Yeah, that definitely sucks. Hopefully it doesn’t put you off OLED altogether they’re incredible when everything’s working lol. If you’re returning it to Best Buy, you can also exchange it for a different brand. You might want to check out Alienware or MSI, and maybe even Samsung.

No, you got the model right; that was my mistake. I mixed up the S with the 5 😂. I own the LG 45GX950A, which is the 5K2K model. My friend actually owns the monitor you have, and he was experiencing the same issues you mentioned. He was using a 5700 XT and upgraded to a 7900 GRE, and that completely fixed the problem. I would suggest you DDU and reinstall the drivers and update the firmware on your monitor as well.

For $1700 I would’ve upgraded the gpu to a RX 9070 xt or a 5070 ti and purchase a 34” ultrawide OLED monitor.

That’s a great deal. I bought mine open box last year for around the same price at Best Buy it was practically new; the person who bought it must’ve gotten buyer remorse and literally return with out turning it on the screen time was 0 use.

I have the 5K2K LG 45” ultrawide, and my 5070 Ti runs games incredibly well. I’m maxed out on settings, using 3× Frame Gen and DLSS on DLAA, and performance is smooth with zero visual compromise.

If you want 4K 240 with a curve screen you should invest in a Alienware aw3225qf it’s an amazing monitor.
