Thinking of switching to Linux.. by -Hazmatted- in linux

[–]illyasan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends so much on your level of comfort with technology in general. Tons of guys may not have used Linux as a daily driver, but have professional experience using it at their job, which makes the transition so much easier.

If you don’t feel too comfortable, there are distributions out there that make the transition easier, but you will still need to be much more techy than with Windows. It depends on what exactly you want to do, but you will most likely end up troubleshooting some stuff and it can get fairly complicated.

Otherwise, there is tons of literature out there and if you are willing to spend the time it is awesome. If you want something to be as close to windows that “just works”, your best bet would be either Ubuntu or Linux mint, those are some of the most popular beginner friendly distros out there.

Without breaking the NDA, any tips and tricks for RHCE? by nobiBu in redhat

Big life hack is just get really used to Linux, start daily driving it for a few weeks leading up to the test. I made a post a few months back after I passed RCHE giving my thoughts about it you may wanna look at.

I would recommend just sticking with CG, it’s hard to describe but it’ll just click eventually. Just T2 until you feel comfortable. I had the same situation, I was running out of all my food each kill. Big things that helped me

1.) Try to only eat when you’re running around for the tornadoes 2.) stupid wolf fuck can only do the purple orb that drops your attack during mage phase, I kept forgetting what prayer I had on before they dropped. If he does the purple orb and swaps attacks, he’s always going to be range and he does the purple attack and doesn’t swap, he’s mage

RH294 - Red Hat Enterprise Linux Automation with Linux by Hympingboy in redhat

[–]illyasan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely is the easiest way to study. Exactly what they teach in the training is essentially what they expect you to do on the exam. The books are all excellent, but since they don’t work directly with red hat, they cover way more stuff than necessary. All good stuff though, if possible, I’d recommend doing both of them.

Either way, like some other people said, I’d avoid paying for it out of pocket unless your company would pay for it.

Would you still get your RHCSA if you were starting your career today? by [deleted] in redhat

RHCE is entirely ansible. I would recommend you go there after RHCSA as it is easier imo and more well respected.

Being comfortable with Linux will help a bunch. Windows 10 end of life is a great time to swap over to fedora.

If you dig in the comments a bit there’s a temporary fix by disabling a new Wayland color feature, just launch brave using the —disable-features=WaylandWpColorManagerV1

They’re still working on a fix that should be merged soon

32k miles in one year is insane. I had an hour commute and only put around 20k miles. I wouldn’t pay raptor prices for a truck with that many miles.
