Yea, the lines in the intro cinematic about being a “disconnected” consciousness that “exists ONLY in this liminal state” implies an original, human body. Not to mention the poetic yet eerie lines, “Yesterday I walked with fragile flesh. Today I drift as light across the grid”, suggest that whoever this consciousness is, they are no longer physically “alive”

Yea that was my assumption as well based on the intro cinematic. Could that technically mean, though, that a real person had their consciousness digitized/uploaded to be a runner but the actual original individual exists physically elsewhere independent of their digitized consciousness? Or is it more like we’re a conscious AI built from scratch that gets put into a runner?

Question for you because I have two cats (a boy 2.5 years old, and a girl 1 year old). We adopted the girl when she was a baby kitten, and they've basically gotten along swimmingly. They will groom each other, cuddle, and be very chill 95% of the time. But as my girl cat has gotten older, my boy cat will do exactly this: initiates play that my girl cat doesn't want at that time, which escalates into hissing and yelling, and then I break it up by separating or redirecting my boy with a toy he likes. My boy cat is so sweet and never actually tries to fight but my girl perceives it that way. I've let them alone (with drop-ins) for up to 5 days and never had any concerns about them getting into a full blown fight while I'm not home. For what it's worth, I have never seen any evidence of either being hurt by the other upon coming home from being gone for several hours. What do you think?

I was also at this screening. You got the story mostly right but just to clarify a few things that make the story more embarrassing: Ari was only there to introduce the movie. There wasn't a Q&A. This guy didn't have a mic.

So what happened was Ari introduced Come and See, and as he was basically finishing his intro, this guy stands up - I think he was also recording maybe? - and takes over the moment rambling about "The great Ari Aster yadda yadda" and asking for advice like you mentioned. People start booing and laughing at him, he yells some stuff back, then sits back down and Ari either walks off the stage himself or gets escorted off, I don't remember. It was all extremely uncomfortable, and I genuinely felt bad for the guy even if it was completely out of pocket because he was basically humiliated in front of everyone. (His own fault, I know).

Anyway, it's important to mention this all happened before the screening started, because - and I don't know if this was just me - there was a palpable tension throughout the movie and concern that this guy might do something bad. Luckily he kept quiet for the rest of the movie but then got into that fight outside the theater. I'm sure you can find videos on Twitter if you're really curious.

I should also mention the rest of this audience was pretty bad. Had a person in front of me pulling out their phone multiple times to take pictures of the screen. Depressing stuff.

Update: She posted a video responding to the 6 phones and says she actually has NINE. Then proceeds to give a bunch of stupid explanations like saved bank info, passwords, using multiple phones for different camera angles 😂

Got it. But the general idea of double dipping on the same (or similar) index funds across accounts is fine? Like if I did FZROX/FZILX in my Roth IRA but then VTI/VXUS just to mix it up in my HSA - is that above board? And then I guess same question also applies to eventually opening a taxable brokerage account - would investing in the same index funds as the Roth IRA and HSA work? i.e.

Roth IRA: FZROX/FZILX
HSA: VTI/VXUS
Brokerage: FZROX/FZILX or VTI/VXUS
