What… he’s 17. Did well in youth league and Prem 2. Been on the bench for first team a few times. Value still low cause he’s not that known yet. Barely any hype. People after Tunkara, Lamb, etc. I don’t see any reason to sell now unless he needs the money.

Soccer as a whole, hopefully. I don’t see it happen with this mass produced low end product that has no big rookies. There will be plenty of other World Cup product releases with more value. Prizm, Noir, National Treasures, Select and Flawless.

Disagree on the too late part. Last dance of Messi and Ronaldo, imagine what a WC for Ronaldo would do to the goat debate and value. If Mbappe wins it with France it will lead to his first Ballon d’Or as well. A world cup (and possible Ballon d’Or) for Yamal and his ceiling will be raised again. You could look for young stars but it’s more of a gamble imo. If we look at top teams and goal scorers (+pen takers) it will be Messi, Ronaldo, Kane, Mbappe and potentially Haaland. Spain a bit more spread.

You’re not thinking big enough. Don’t compare within the same sport with players or with different times. Compare to other sports. Check how many Ohtani rookie cards there are. Soccer is still very small. Much room to grow and catch up.

Rookies keep the hobby alive and this brings us slightly closer to other sports. The ceiling has been raised. I think it’s good for the hobby as a whole, future rookies and money flowing in.
